I want to share a new spigot I've been working on for my rotopax water can. There isn't a great solution for this that I'm aware of, so I've started working on my own setup. It's very close - I just need to update the adapter material to ones that are food-safe (got some stainless steel on order)

I made this adapter ring that's the same size as the yellow spout and it uses the O-ring from the spout to create a water-tight seal.

The brass spigot has 1/2" threads and is potable water safe.

Lastly is a venting solution. This is an Amazon special and is made of brass and stainless (although there is no mention of this being potable water safe...)

Once I figure out the adapter with a potable water-safe material I'll add some links and directions.

    Cheers,
    Colin

Updating this thread to help people looking for a spigot for their Rotopax. I have the new gen 2 version. The inner gasket ID needs to be cut 21mm. The outer gasket OD needs to be 44-45mm.

    Gasket sheet from Lowe’s
    https://www.lowes.com/pd/Keeney-6-in-Rubber-Washer/1082957

    Metal washer
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009OJL1FQ

Punch set to cut gasket sheet
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RDC3DW5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    Spigot
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071LQ5CHB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

And then put in this order
Spigot > spigot gasket that came with it > Rotopax cap > metal washer > cut gasket > spigot nut

I messed around with all sorts of ways to get water out of scepter jugs until I found this-

    https://www.amazon.com/Pump,KUFUNG-Drinking-Automatic-Dispenser-Universal/dp/B07V6XK82W/

they press fit over the pour spout on a MWC can like it was designed to fit
there are a ton on Amazon, different styles, metered output, etc

rechargeable and they pump at a decent rate to wash your hands or rinse dishes
I don’t really consider it to be food safe, but they are supposed to be

Just a thought on the vent - you could use another spigot with the nozzle facing up. You could then use that to fill it as well with a thread adapter.
