Im also interested in some trails or forest service roads in the roanoke area

 

I am new to the forum and new to Virginia. I live in the Hampton Roads area, but I’m looking to try the Peters Mill Run Trail next weekend. Has anyone hit this trail before? I have a bone stock 17 Tacoma DCSB TRD-OR.

 

I've never done them but there is also Potts Mountain Road and Potts Mountain Jeep Trial up by New Castle.

There is also the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM).

 

Does anyone know of any place that will do a cab mount chop nearby? I’m in Roanoke but don’t mind driving to nearby county’s to get it done.

 

I live in Lynchburg and am wondering the same thing! I have the plates just looking for somebody that knows what they are doing to do it. I’m also trying to find someone that would do the ECGS needle bearing swap for me. I used to do my own mods and work but since I got hit on my motorcycle I can’t get around like I once did.

Anyone here been to or around Burke’s Garden? I've been wanting to check it out and hopefully camp in the area. On gravelmap.com it shows SR 623 goes across the mountain into Burke’s Garden. Does anyone know if there’s any camping spots along 623?

Looks like it’s adjacent to a wilderness area, but the only hiking trail that shows up is the AT along the ridge line.

Well my brother finally bought a Tacoma - I think a 1st gen . I haven't seen the shape it's in, but he's happy with it. He doesn't do the whole on-line thing, but once I see it I'll take some pictures and post them up. Maybe he can get in with you guys and have some fun with it. He was complaining that the passenger floor is soaked, and I told him about the A/C hose issue mentioned here before, so hopefully he was able to figure that one out.

 

Riner, VA here. Wondering if there any somewhat local shops that can do a cab mount chop on my 2013 Tacoma. Finally starting to equip my truck, just need to find a good shop to help with some of the work.

You will be better of finding someone outside of a shop to it. I’m not sure many shops would be willing to do something like that. At least none to my knowledge were willing to.

I'll be in blacksburg this summer and I could probably do it for you. I've got welder, plasma cutter, grinder, plate to fill in the chop.

 

That would be awesome if so. I run my kid out to Blacksburg almost daily for dance practice. The plates are already ordered and hopefully on the way, but I'd certainly pay you for the work and help.

 

It will be july before I'm out there, so if you're able to wait a bit, then I can make it work. If you're itching to get the tires on and can't wait, no sweat
