Hard to say when the engine was also bored/stroked at the same time. Of the trucks that I've tuned with them, all of them move quite a bit of air up top, but all of them have also had pretty extensive upgrades go in with the cams.

From the limited sample set that I've worked with, these things will really shine the more RPM you turn. Sticking with a 5600RPM redline will mute the benefits of these cams from what I've seen thus far.

If we can get this moving in the next few weeks, I am in. A shop I am working with spoke with Kelford. Supposedly, they did not seem interested in making one set. I did not speak with them.
Webcams was willing to do it, but needed my existing cams. No problem for me, but could be for others. It seemed like everyone was happy with the kelfords, that is why I am hesitant to go with anything else.

Anyone have feedback on webcams? http://www.webcamshafts.com/

Regardless, if I could buy some kelfords in the next month or two, I would.

    PM sent.
Also, I was attempting to get pricing from Real Street Performance for kelford cams yesterday. They called me back today, no-go.
If more people were interested I am sure they would change their minds. Maybe two will work.

Either will pan out. I cannot remember, but I believe the prices were pretty close between the companies.

Honestly, I would like to see the efforts of Web Camshafts. Only downside would be that if it were your daily, you'd be down until they were returned.

Not the case when doing and engine build.

Are those of you who are considering these also planning for a forged rotating assembly? These cams don't really shine until RPM's eclipse that of the stock revlimit. I hope this is something you're all considering.

    Ya think so?

The increased lift/duration and improved/performance oriented cam-timing surely are going to make more power even at lower revs. With an even greater bump beyond the OE rev-limiter.

I’m guessing that you’re basing this on observed airflow while logging, yes? 4l of displacement is going to flow x amount of air at any given rpm. We have a tiny bit of control here with smoothing things out and improving flow. But, in all fairness, that is quite minor. Anyway, x amount of air with the stock cams will make a certain amount of power. What of the actual power produced at the exact same airflow/rpm with performance cams? Are we not going to be making more power despite the airflow being more or less the same? Valve events, overlap, timing all being optimized for performance rather than economy/emissions. We’re using the same amount of air to make more power.

Gale Banks did a really good presentation on upgraded cams, recently. Not the exact same, but fundamentally, similar.

I'm leaning toward removing the 3° ret cam gears if the Kelford cams are installed, based on the feedback here.
