man just messing with you. I was there for 3 yrs but recently moved to an even more flat area. The east coast of Georgia. XC is the only option here.
Dothan put a lot of money and work into those. They are the best trails within 100+miles easy.

May have posted here before but here is my whip last summer near Tahoe:
    1) always showing up some place useful
    2) still fitting perfectly (but especially under your truly)
    3) and has been cleared to land (Pac-town, CA)

Haha, I was actually north of Tahoe camping out of Gold Lake 4x4 camp.
I don't know the name of that trail but it is a spur that goes (roughly) north off Snake Lake Trail and out by Mt Elwell I believe.
And oh yes, classic Sierra chunk :thumbsup:

My Trek Fuel EX 9 the day I bought it (used) almost 2 years ago. First mountain bike since my '99 Schwinn Homegrown Factory; I'm blown away at the how far the tech has come in the last 20 years. I had to google "dropper post" lol. This thing is a blast, I'm so happy I've gotten back into riding :)

It’s a beautiful bike. After MTBing since 1988 I still don’t get how people clip in. I tried it back in the late 90’s but to me it’s totally a road and maybe serious cross country thing. If you are rocking Minion DHF’s, riding down a lot of hills… clipping in as a novice or average rider is just crazy. I get all the traction I need with 510’s and flats. Plus the convenience of being able to get my feet off quickly and safely.

I see that bike has XR3’s so more of a XC vibe perhaps. To each their own.

    Thanks!

Clipless is just what I know and am comfortable with. I bought those Times on my Trek back in ‘98 or so and they work amazing. Easy in and out and I love having the extra pull on the pedal when climbing.

Yes, I ride almost exclusively XC and almost stuck with a HT vs FS when shopping but with all the roots and other crap on our trails I’m super happy I went with FS.

I tried going back to flats on my fat bike, and the first rocky/rooty/blown out downhill I hit, my feet were bouncing up off the pedals. I guess I forgot how to ride flats. I agree they are not for a novice, but they aren't just for cross country. Heck, even Sam Hill questioned using flats on his last enduro race due to all the rough and blown out sections. I actually think running flats takes a lot more technique and talent. Running clipless, getting unclipped is about all you have to learn, and you learn that pretty quickly.

Just got my 2021 Polygon T8. I’m pumped to have a modern geometry bike with the 1x drivetrain. This is my upgrade from a 2013 Rocky Mountain Slayer. For the price point, Polygon isn’t a bad choice, especially since they have been rotating in stock during the supply crunch!

and it lasted 100 yards!.......and then later I got 300ft of air but it was only a foot wide gap.............and I'm 60 so let me know what you got whenever you get there. I have no sponsors, a different job than riding and no more body parts to sacrifice for no good reason, so there's that too. Yeah, I ride to ride another day....everyone else can ride how they ride.

That frame looks familiar. Is that a DW link bike?

Also, I was presented an opportunity with Vee recently. I'm not sure on your experience with other tires but what are your thoughts the Vee rubber such as durability, grip, and protection?

That's a single-pivot setup, there's no link where the chainstay attaches to the frame, and the rear pivot is on the seatstay. Looks similar to a Horst link (think Specialized), but Horst has the rear pivot on the chainstay.

Ive only had 1 ride so far with these tires so take that for what it’s worth lol. The bike was supposed to come with some Magic Marys, but due to supply issues they came with the Vees. The Vees are priced similar to Maxxis tires ($60+) so that was encouraging to see. I’ve always ridden Maxxis tires on my old Rocky MTN, but for the first ride on just firm packed dirt at 25 PSI I didn’t notice any slippage in the turns. We get a lot of mud here come rainy season, so I’m curious to see how they hold up myself when that time comes. I’m going to rock these until they wear out then I’ll probs downsize to a 2.5/2.4 and might consider another brand if I’m not satisfied.

Found it - it is a rebranded Calibre bike. Someone told me this weekend Calibre went bankrupt and Polygon was the ghost manufacturer behind the whole thing so now they're selling the old Calibre inventory with their name on it. This confirms that.

    http://calibrebicycles.com/bike/triple-b-pro/

Also, you know what you're talking about - come join us in Bikes and Taco thread.

One more thing, you're the first Bentonville local (that rides) I've ever ran across. So at least one mountain biker actually lives there
