Company just went public... I believe shares opened at $21.25 and it's currently trading in the $18's. I read somewhere that $18/share was the 'discounted' IPO price employees got (if they opted to) buy shares pre-IPO. Just wondering if anyone is thinking of investing in Compass.

I could see upside as I think they are a growing company. My wife works in Real Estate and says Compass is crushing it here in San Diego, CA. They aren't everywhere and I think currently only have like 4% of the market share compared to other brokerage houses.

Seems like a good investment. Right now my funds are tied up in GME, otherwise I’d probably buy that

Thanks for the tip. After looking at it, bought 40 shares with my playing around account.

They are a decent company, BUT I don't know YET if they make much money, repeatedly. I'm not an IPO type investor. But I will watch COMP.

They have year over year increases in revenue but still had a loss of around $270M last year from what I've been reading. Earnings Report coming out 5/12.

I've been reading the boards and what concerns me are the people saying Compass is selling itself as a Tech Real Estate company with "AI" and other tech features for their agents to use... but then people and agents are saying they offer nothing other brokerages already offer. So, hard to know who's telling the truth... most likely a little bit of both. I'll hold and see whats up after the earnings report.

    This.

Except I bought 100 shares on a flyer this AM. Compass agents here are sharp as tacks and complete professionals with real drive. Let's see haha...

I dumped my 40 shares this morning after reading more and watching it continue to tank, put the money on an S&P index fund lol.from what I’ve read it’s no better than other real estate companies and losing money. Lots of smoke and mirrors.

It’s expensive. I’ll spare you guys the ridicule if you lay off the pot stocks in that I speculated.

Well it’s fun to speculate if you’re just using your fun money lol. Just have to know when to get in our out, which I’m on a learning curve there. I keep my real money in a managed 401k and it’s doing well, gonna be a good retirement fund.

Um Compass IPO around $21 is like at $3.50 right now and still losing money, hopefully everyone here dumped their shares a loooong time ago as I did lol. Smoke and mirrors quality PR.

    Oh man, thread revival.

We bought this house through a Compass broker. Flawless.

    But the stock. Yikes!!

OK I had to go back to 2021 records. I sold in August 2021 and made exactly +$101.97 in one of my IRA accounts, on COMP.

99% of 2021 IPO’s ended as garbage can. Don’t feel bad if you got caught here. Banks and execs teamed up to be crooks.
