Just bought the Kenwood DNX-6960. I had originally bought the Pioneer 3200BT from Amazon, but for some reason I changed my mind after I got it. Returned to Amazon and found the DNX 6960 on Amazon from Car Toys for only 721. I called Crutchfield and had them price match (Crutchfield has it for 899 rght now). Just got the shipment verification a few minutes, ago. Should have it by Wednesday and Installed on Thursday.

Just two questions. Where do people usually run the gps wire? I read somewhere to drop it down the vent in the middle and then fish for the cable under the dash. Any easier way?

Lastly, I want to put the mic in the head liner, Any tips on removing the pillar, or is it just take off the handle and pull? Other than that, I think I am good to go.

Not sure on the GPS, I'm trying to decide as well.

As far as the mic, you can take the pillar off by removing the handle. Same place I am looking to put it.

Thanks for the tip on Crutchfield price matching, didn't know they did that.

Any other answers to the GPS question? Where to drop the wire?

I have a different Kenwood and I wedged the GPS wire/antenna between a portions of the dash/stereo opening. It works fine and I have full bars on the satellite signal. Just feel around and shove it up in there. It will be fine.

Installed... I ran the GPS cable between the windshield and the dash, then within the pillar. The mic I ran from the Compass than tucked the cable in the upper part of the windshield and down the a pillar. Looks clean. Actually looks exactly like this... Credits to JDrew for the pics. I copied him exactly on those two things. Check out his install here: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/audio-video/38849-kenwood-dnx9140-installed.html
