    Lol who knows

Keeping your laptop screen brightness around 50% minimizes the intensity significantly, thankfully lol

Finally got around to updating my 19 OR from 04b31 to 04b33.
I don't recall seeing any screen shots of what to expect so I took some along the way. May vary from year to year, but here is an idea.
Whole process took less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

    Good stuff!

There is no variance for year since it is part of the TS software.

We do not have screenshots posted, but they are shown in TSB-0134-16.

What are your thoughts @Shellshock and @tonered on using an active usb extension cable? It would be a 32' active usb extension plus whatever the length is of the tactrix usb cable.

    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KY9M6P4/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A1AMUYYA3CT6HJ

I'm a little worried about reliability of usb at these lengths, but I guess this is what the active cables are designed for?

The reason I'm wanting to do this is I have a desktop pc mounted to the wall in my shop that runs my cnc machine, it's the only windows pc I have and it displays to a wall mounted tv. So it's not really easy to relocate the pc close enough to reach the truck without a usb extension.

The other option is to pickup a cheap windows laptop, which I'd do if needed but of course I would prefer not to unnecessarily.

I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to try it. I’d mostly be worried about the cable getting caught and bumped or pulled out

    I echo what @Shellshock said.

There's no way to get the Taco close to the computer for a cable that doesn't need to be boosted?

Normal USB stuff wouldn't worry me with an active cable, but flashing would.

Yeah I figured it was kind of risky.

I can't get the truck very close without moving TONS of stuff unfortunately.

    But thanks for the input!

    You're welcome!

I'd rather move the computer closer just for the flash. :D

Aren’t you in the Midwest somewhere? I could do the TSB. I’ve done them for a bunch of people.

Yeah I'm in Naperville, about 45 minutes west of Chicago.

I was thinking about getting in touch with you because I'm also considering a tune. I'm still sorting through all the options at the moment, so I'll definitely keep you posted.

But part of me wants to have the ability to re-flash without having to depend on someone else. I'm not fully committed to doing this myself though lol

One thing I've been wondering, and I hope there is no offense taken by this, where are these CUW files coming from? In other words, how can I be sure that these files haven't been altered in some way? :tinfoilhat:

I've got everything and doing the ECU TSB and the VFTune with KDMax 6.0. Today I charged my AGM battery on an 8 stage charger and ready to go. I'll turn everything off lights, etc. Anyone know if I'll be fine without a battery tender through the update and tune?

You should be. If you can trust your battery to listen to the radio on Accessory for a half hour, your set for a 10min flash.
