Great product. Super easy install. As you can see the previous mounting location got in the way of the hidden light bar. Problem solved.

Agree totally. If you have to run a front plate it makes sense to me to run it below the lower opening in the bumper. I have wondered before if Toyota dealerships actually mounted the license plate wrong, with Toyota intending the plate to be mounted to the bottom holes in the license plate, shifting the plate up instead of the top holes in the license plate shifting the plate down. If installed in the up position the plate does not block any air flow to the radiator, AC condenser and the oil cooling radiator.

Thanks for the PM about hardware size. Just wanted to say, I a still very happy with mine! Had a little "incident" but the bracket survived and the body shop filled in the license plate holes a bit, so it looks even better now.

4th accident for one of the brackets so far and each survived with a little tweaking to be able to continue to be used! Looks great! Thanks for the feedback!

New to the board, have an 09 TRD Off Road with the front skid plate. Assuming the LM-0511 fits my application would like to order. Will I have to remove the skid plate to install?

First, welcome to Tacoma World! Second, the LM-0511 will fit your truck, which skid plate you have will only affect the installation time. I am not sure from your description if you have the stock skid plate that comes on all Tacoma’s or the Toyota accessory skid plate that was an extra cost option. The LM-0511 will fit either but if you have the Toyota accessory skid plate then you will need to remove it temporarily to install the plate bracket then you would just re-install it. You can always send a picture of the front end if you are not sure. If you are ready to order we can start a conversation to work out the final details.
