We can discuss it if you want.

I would need to look at pricing for this.

I still have one on my truck.

That's a nice pan, just a little steep for my pocket.

That pricing was several years old, I would have to work up new pricing. It would be higher.

Should we start discussing the cost for 3? I’m sure that’ll still be cheaper (and easier) than going to the 4x pan.

Let me first rant a little on machining parts. Most modern machine shops are CNC. These means there is some set up time before you make a part. You have to turn a drawing into a program that the CNC machine can read. Some times you need to make some special fixturing to hold a part in a machine. With that said, when you machine a part there is time spent in the set up of a run of parts. After the part run is finished, you will need to remove some fixturing. The time to do these functions is figured into the cost of the parts. The more parts you run, this cost per part becomes less.

Now other things effect cost such as materials. If you look at at thread that is a few years old, there has been some increase in material costs over that time period.

The cost of three (3) oil pan spacers will be:

    $370 for unbaffled each
    $520 for baffled each

For this I need a $100 deposit from each of the three (3) people that want it before I start machining.

To make a billet oil pan, I need a minimum of two (2). Price would be $1350 each

For this I need a $500 deposit from each of the two (2) people that want it, before I start machining.

Sorry for the higher prices, but that is just the way it is.

The link to the thread on XRU discussing this deep sump oil pan is broken. Can you please share a new link? Interested in this or the spacer with baffle.

Count me in for either the oil pan spacer with baffle, or the billet oil pan! I remember bugging you on XRU many years ago for another run of these. I won't miss out this time! Just need more info on the the pros/cons of the billet oil pan vs the spacer with baffle. My 2006 X-runner has a TRD SC and supporting mods. I'm ok with the pricing. Thank you.

Thanks Coupe. Good thread. What did you develop first? Deep oil pan or spacer with baffle? Why were both developed? To serve different needs I suppose. What are those needs? Pros and Cons comparing the two would be appreciated. How much oil does the deep oil pan hold compared to OEM oil pan with spacer? Thanks.

Oil pan spacer was first. It was made without a baffle. It will add 1 qt of oil.

One of the members on XRU (Grumpy) bought one of my spacers and added a baffle. I liked what he did so I added that option.

I liked the idea of larger oil pans with baffles that help direct the oil where you want it. This pic shows the inside of the oil pan baffle.

The rubber trap doors in this pic helps keep the oil from sloshing to the far left or right of the pan. It acts like a check valve to keep the oil in the center section of the oil pan where the oil pick up tube is located.

The rubber pieces are from a BMW that uses it for the same thing.

The installation of the oil pan is a little easier than the spacer.

The oil pan will hold 2 quarts of oil. It may take 2 1/2 if you run a large oil filter.

I like the look of the oil pan and I think it works better, but it is expensive.

The oil pan spacer is an improvement over stock, maybe not as effective as the oil pan, but is priced cheaper.

Thanks Coupe, great info. So I add 2 to 2.5 more quarts of oil, and the read the oil dip stick as normal?

Put me down for the Deep Sump oil pan! Hopefully another buyer steps up. I really hope this mini group buy goes through.

I may be back in if my motor is still good. Lol. I just discovered that my exhaust after the y pipe is loose and coming undone so hoping that may be the reason I'm running rough. The mechanic didnt have time to diagnose my truck on my days off.

I have enough people to do the the Deep Oil Pan. I will start asking for deposits for the deep oil pan. Once I have the deposits, I will start acquiring material and start machining.

O.K. we have a party now. I will start getting materials together for the Deep Oil Pan. I will post progress on this thread.
