Truck less than 1 month - fking-A
At least it's in the middle of the tire ...
But it's Sunday Night, no place to go right now, wife took off
tomorrow so we could go to the lake.... christ ..

 

I had a screw in my tire a couple months ago. Never lost any PSI so I took it on a 2k mile trip through NM and Colorado haha. Still no issue, don't even remember what tire it's on after the rotation. Wore the head right off of it lol.

 

Drove about 8 miles on it after I saw it, didn't wanna pull it out - PSI remained steady in the tire...
Will check PSI in another few hours.

 

Well good thing you have a brand new spare wheel underneath the truck

 

Plug kits are like $6 at Walmart.

 

Plug kit and blind spot mirrors are added to my trucks the day I buy them. This should cost you about 15 minutes of annoyance and then be forgotten. Enjoy your trip!

I use it on my lawn mower all the time and my lawn mower goes places on my
Land I wouldn’t take my truck. I also keep a kit in my truck emergency stash.

get a windex bottle & spay it .....................bubbles get it fixed

no bubbles pull the screw ..........spray again

might U have some ‘ Wite Out ‘ correction fluid

put a dot on sidewall where screw is located to check later

( wite out will stay on sidewall quite a while letting U check it later )

good oddz the screw aint long enuf to cause puncture

 

go to discount tire. free patch up for tires under 5yrs old, no questions asked.

Well two and a half hours later crank up pressure is the same all around - may have dodged a small bullet,
gonna check again in the a.m. and run it up to Big-O, let them pull and advise - normally not a big deal but
the wife has her heart set on taking a ride up to the lake tomorrow... she's been working like crazy last 6 weeks.

A surprisingly large percent of people have never changed a tire. Its a lost life skill, e.g. manual transmissions.

 

As stated above, plug and go. Takes 10 minutes.

 

With something like this, you should try to back it out slightly to see if it leaks. If it is 3/4" screw into a brand new tire, the chances of it going all the way through is slim. If it didn't go all the way through, the longer you drive on it the more likely it will puncture. Having one of those plug kits on hand isn't a bad idea, but remember that they are temporary fixes so you should take it to get it patched from the inside as soon as you can. Also, if you have a plug kit, you will also need pump as well. A cheap 12v compressor will work, but you will probably have to let it cool off halfway through your fill up. Of course you can always go old school with a bicycle pump if you have Popeye arms.

 

What surprises me is that there are a number of cars that don't even come equipped with a spare anymore.

Underneath the trunk carpet in my girlfriend's Hyundai you'll find a small bottle of fix-a-flat and a cheap air inflator.

 

Sams Club will fix it for free if you are a Plus member no matter where you bought/got the tire.

 

I agree, even a donut spare would be welcome. However I do get it as tires seem to have gotten much better in recent years, although punctures do still happen obviously.

 

I did not know this, donuts are bad enough but that’s ridiculous
