I’ve recently purchased a 2009 PreRunner. Everything is great and well taken care of, but it seems the last owner spilled something behind the glass of the display for the radio. Are there any tutorials on how to remove the faceplate for the head unit? All I can find is how to removed the head unit itself....

    thanks!!

Yeah I thought about that, but I really like the OEM look. Aftermarket stereos always look so tacky.

just slapped this sony xav-ax1000 in my 07. I know what you mean about tacky radios but this is pretty chill. Has carplay and you can set the wallpaper to orange to match the dash light color.

I’d give you mine but it’s the 06 and gray.

I agree with you on the tacky look, at some point I will spend some time with the CNC and make an insert out of ABS. In conjunction with the idatalink Mastro RR and a flag ship head unit, the degree of OEM integration in my 06 now rivals anything coming off the factory and is exponentially more customizable.

Are you sure that isn't the Protective Peel Off film???

It looks more like air bubbles under a film than a spill behind the display.
