    Hey guys,

I was trying to find some new gas shocks for my Glass Tite truck shell and get the rear door repaired. My original gas shocks were worn out and kept falling on my head when I opened it to put gear or other things in my truck bed. I got tired of that and called Custom Trucks in Redwood City. I got to talk to Vito, was told that he had a variety of gas shocks in different lengths, and he asked me to stop by their shop.

I drove out to the Custom Trucks shop in Redwood City and was greeted by Ken. He was able to pop off my old gas shocks on the rear door of my Glass Tite shell, find the correct length for the replacement gas shocks, and installed them for me for free, which he didn't have to do. I went to pay for my gas shocks. I asked the staff if they can repair the damaged and crooked rear door of my shell. They looked at it in person, were unable to help me, but recommended a couple of auto glass shops who could help me out. If any of you are in need of truck accessories/service in the Bay Area, I would highly recommend Custom Trucks to my fellow TW forum members in the Bay Area. Today was a good day!

Good to hear. the rear door on my Leer 100R had an unfortunate encounter with the garage door opener while in the open position.

Spoke with Vito @ Custom and also checked in with Campways. Vito was the only one to return my call after hearing back from Leer. Special order since the cap is pushing 20+ years old. Turn around time 4-6 weeks per Leer. Vito worked up an estimate and sent it over which i forwarded to insurance. Door ordered.

Campways surprised me with their lack of follow-up. They were always the go-to cap dealer in the area. Oh well.
