If you are adding a 1.5" rear lift block, should it be tapered? I have a 1.0" block now but the truck sags a little. If so any recommendations? Thanks

Generally over 1" is when Tacomaworld agrees its time for something other than a block.

You can use an add-a-leaf with a 1" block, but you need to make sure you have extended shocks, at least 5100's.

The icon AAL can give 1.5" on a healthy leaf pack, but yours sounds like its sagging, I would do a AAL (overload removed) and a 1" block.

And to go with that, I would shim that much lift.

If you install the add-a-leaf kit above would a person need to add a shim for pinion angle?

I've been on 1.5" rear block for almost 3 months now. No issues but i dont carry any weight. Its really no big deal. Many 4x4 trucks from other manufacturers run 2"+ blocks stock.

Thats all subjective to individual trucks. Some need shims, some need the carrier bearing spacer, some need both and if 4wd, you may need a new ecgs bearing.
