Frustrating situation. Me and the Mrs both have iPhone Xrs. Ios is up to date, router firmware is current.

Phone connect to wifi but ‘can’t find server’ when attempting to use the internet

Looked online for a fix, many suggestions that don’t work for us.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced and fixed this issue?

    Thanks :hattip:

Your battery dying and phone in power save mode turning wifi off?

Do other devices work on wifi?

I usually toggle airplane mode on then off.

Can you log into your wifi router with the phone?

Kinda smells like a DNS issue or something else with the router if both phones are doing it. Are other devices on the network acting normally?

Setup hotspot on one of the phones and connect to the hotspot with other. Verify wifi works.

    What is your net setup?

    modem to router

Hey folks, I really appreciate your time and suggestions.

This system has been rock solid for a couple of years now. It’s a real PITA.

I’ve toggled, toggled and toggled some more.

None of it seemed to help, BUT this one worked for a few minutes then went back to doing the same thing..

Ahh wtf! That’s been my go to since the last few iOS updates! Do it for at least one person a day and it’s been solid!

Get the google internet mesh pack from Costco. Works like a charm.

So, on your standard wifi connection was the private address on and you turned it off and it worked for a few seconds and then stopped working? I'm imagining that was what happened... now I'm curious as to why.

Have you rebooted the router? I’d shut down the phones, and router all at the same time. Then fire up the router after a minute or so, turn on the phones.

I toggled off the private network setting and got a notice I needed to rejoin then when I did, it showed some sort of lack of privacy notice under my network name. I let it stay like that for a few minutes then toggled back to having privacy on -another notice to rejoin which I did. It worked great for a few minutes then resorted back to not finding the server.

Leave it off for a few see what happens. It is network/SSID based in the phone. I'd like to see a pic of the notification if you could?

Yes to the router reboot but no on the phones and router together. I’ll give it a try! Maybe even forget the network before I shut the phones down. I’ll report back.
