Just wondering if there was a better product than mothers back to black to help restore the faded Bumpers and Fender Flares. Seeing how almost every time it rains the product washes off, or what y'all were doing to fix this issue.

When I first bought my truck the fenders were really faded into a light gray. I went ahead and took off all the fenders, grill, and bumper and just repainted all of it with black paint and haven’t had a problem since i did it 3 years ago.

Mine were trash too , so i took em off and sprayed them with bed liner. Look pretty decent.

I've had pretty good luck with "Solution Finish"
    https://www.amazon.com/Solution-Finish-Black-Plastic-Restorer/dp/B006NZQ3T8

I wasn't super impressed the first time I used it because it wore off fairly quickly (but even after wearing off it was an improvement over the previous condition). But, I realized later that I hadn't prepped the parts properly. Strange enough there are different instructions on the bottle vs a video they have on their site that gives some better tips.

Last time I used it I removed the windshield cowl and two fog light trim pieces from my CR-Z and instead of brushing the Solution Finish on I put it into a Pre-Val sprayer and sprayed it on. This worked fantastic. Immediate results were amazing and it lasted pretty long but has definitely faded a little. But, now it looks just like a normal car vs before the cowl looked light gray rather than black.

Carpro Dlux or Gtechniq C4. Both work fabulous. As far as Mother’s back to black, you can throw it in the trash.

How much of a pain is it to get the front bumper off?

I was looking at the Carpro Dlux, do you know how long this product will last before having to reapply it?

No much really, a couple clips some 10mm head course screws a little prying by hand and it pops right off. (For the bumper cover, the part you can actually see that most people calle the bumper, the actual bumper is a piece of aluminum held on by 6 14mm bolts IIRC.)

As for the rear bumper and bed caps they just pry right off.

A little easier when they're warmer and the plastic is more bendy. Wear gloves and use a plastic pry tool.

i have gotten well over a year of GTechniq C4 on the plastic on the bed. I have not used Dlux for that yet but I would expect similar results. I will also mention my vehicle lives outside 24/7

Welcome to marketing I’ve been using the mothers back to black since the beginning of this year went through about 1 can per month looks good when first applied until the rain comes here in florida and it leaves really bad streaking marks but it will only last for 2 weeks if it doesn’t rain maybe 2.5 weeks if I’m lucky

A coating will definitely not do that. I have tried several products over the years including the highly forum regarded 303 (which is garbage on exterior), ceramic coatings are the best I have found so far for restoring plastic. I have not tried painting, so I am not including that.

it’s not too bad. Just have to remove the grill, headlights, and then bumper in that order. Really easy to keep up with the screws and clips and what goes where. It only takes me about 15 minutes to get my whole front end ripped off.

Buy some ceramic coating. Did this multiple times and it works great.

did it to my tacoma and a year later, still super black. I did my lower bumper and mirrors. They were grey/ashy looking
