Some people say it doesn’t bother them, but it bothered me the moment I noticed it after opening the hatch the first time. I knew it was something I had to add that makes the experience so much better. So glad I did. My gf is short and can’t reach the handle so she has to touch the lip to pull the hatch down.

Found some lights that seem to work just fine. I went with an LED light with a magnetic back so I can move the lights around when needed. I chose one large one to light up the bed and two medium size ones that are on the doors to work as scene/camp lights. It’s a relatively cheap option and offers tons of flexibility. I was looking into hardwiring lights but this seems to be a better solution for me. I don’t tend to use bed lights for that long of a duration and could use these lights in other scenarios and they’re easily rechargeable through USB. Here’s some pics so you can see how bright they are at night and where I placed them and links to purchase are below.

I have a Prinsu rack on my Evo. Not an adventure, but the install was pretty simple, just have to make a few adjustments to some bits and pieces ( I had to drill out the prinsu holes to fit the slightly larger bolts that accompany the M8 Square nuts seen in the products section of this thread), I just used a dremel to widen the holes out a bit, took 5min per mount, then spray painted over the bare metal. I slept in my RTT over top of the RSI/Prinsu rack for the first time this weekend and everything held up perfectly (pictures below)

    Looks good!!!

Are you using the standard mounting feet that come with the prinsu rack? Does the rack clear the side doors when the cap is open?

Im hopeing to get my prinsu mounted up on my EVOa this weekend.

Looks sweet! I was worried about the difference in rack height due to the shell being taller than the cab but it’s not as bad as I thought.

Standard mounting feet for the rack to cab, and I bought the extended tent mount brackets, which are a life saver for getting just enough space to get a box wrench between the rack and the tent to tighten down all the bolts. I think I could have still got to them but it would have made a 20min job a 2+ hour knuckle-scraping nightmare, haha!

The Windows on the side *just* clear the prinsu wide open, but you have to have the rack set just right since the topper is tapered slightly. Once I added the prinsu handles to the side of the rack to help aid getting the tent set up, they actually contact the window just before max opening, so I'm toying with either moving them or trying to put some protective plastic/rubber on the bottom to prevent nay scratching or damage to the glass. May also consider switching to those woven paracord handles for the same reason.

Do you remember what length bolt you used to attach the prinsu feet to the rsi rail?

I used M8-1.25 x 16mm flanged hex bolts, but I also bought 20mm's - I think the 20mm were just a bit too long, I would love to find some 18mm, I think 18 would be the perfect length to get all the way through the nut + 1-2mm, but not too long to hit the bottom of the channel. If you find any, let me know!

Did you get this figured out? Mine does not look like that. I’d move that bed rail attachment point out of the way first.

Look at the last 2 pics in my album: https://imgur.com/a/CJAEGe8

I can send more, but your’s looks weird to me.

Thank you for the images. Have an EvoA on order for my build to be coupled with UpTop Alpha. Prinsu compatibility seems well established so I am hoping that Alpha will also not interfere with RSI doors. Shop doing build seems very confident. Any pics with the doors up showing clearance to your Prinsu? Thanks again.

I should have taken a couple before I put the handles on, but now they don't quite clear. When the rack is installed you get very little room, probably 3/4" on each side between the door and the rack, but that's all you need really! I still plan on buying paracord or other slim handles for the toprack and moving the Prinsu handles to the cab rack.

    Thanks Grey.

So fair to assume that even if side RSI windoors are slightly impeded from fully deploying (either by Prinsu handles or rack itself w/rubber stoppers like you mentioned above to prevent metal-to-glass contact) this is not a significant detraction from the utility of the doors? Meaning you're not hitting your head on the doors or they don't get in your way, opening still good for access and usability, etc.

I'm pretty certain this will be the case for me given UpTop Alpha's ArmorTech (additional color matched plating on sides of rack) + handles....... despite what the shop/outfitter telling me essentially 'don't worry - they got this'. So I will likely need to plan for a similar scenario to prevent metal (rack) to metal (EvoA doors) contact.

    Thanks again.

Prinsu racks, cab and top, light bar, rear and side roof rack lights, ARE Camper shell, blackout, TRD Grille, Anytime front and rear cameras, Truck bed box (DIY) Bilstein 5100 front, OME 2885 Coils, Ikon Stage 2 Rear AAL
I think if these caps' profile matched up with the cab height, the lines followed the more curved contours of the cab, and it was color-matched, I think I would go for one.

Anyone have pictures of an RSi with an awning attached? I was looking at an OVS 270/LT270 or batwing but after seeing the mounting I'm concerned the side windows will hit it. Goal is to still be able to open up the sides under the canopy.

I'd prefer not to go with a smaller awning if I don't have to.
