4x4 Trails close to NYC?

I'm looking for a place that I can off road, camp, and bike (or any combination of that). By close, I mean a maximum of maybe 10 hours drive. It would be my 1st time off roading. Thanks

Also, If there's any National Forest land around, look up the MVUM's (motor vehicle use map) for the area.

As a first timer no matter where you go, I would advise you to join a forum group or other group of people and go with them to wherever they are going - not alone or as a single vehicle. Think "meetup". Offroading first time as a single, unless just a well trodden trail that is frequented by many, could lead to trouble you're unable to get out of alone.
