So after driving the 3rd gen a couple thousand miles, I actually don't hate it that much. The shift schedule is not the complete disaster I remember from test driving TRD Pro's, but that could be because this is on a much smaller and lighter tire than the stock pro. The MPG is still garbage for what the truck is tho, which makes me really wonder what some of the lifted AT 3rd gen guys are really getting @rdpoe
I seriously wonder why/if there isn't a different trans cal for heavier tires.

My calculations show my 1st gen should do slightly better than the 3rd gen with the new motor, but it will take a while to get that all done.
Work is getting crazy, somehow I haven't finished my kitchen remodel or put my MR2 back together from latest mods... Probably mid April before I'm starting to tear down the truck, might get out for one last hurrah before its in pieces.

    Just seeing this.

I went through 3 stages with gas mileage

    - stock: (driving like a grandma) 19-21
    - 33s, armor, suspension: 17-19
    - 34s:. Fucking shit. Like 14-16. 16 on longer highway stints drafting off a semi.

Edit, I'm OVTuned. It does make a difference. Numbers are OVTune for all

I was Today years old when I found out you can't put a 4x sheet flat in the bed of a third gen. :bananadead:
I really need to get to work on my 1st gen.

Now that you mention it, I think kept 2x6's in my 2nd gen for that very reason...

I wonder if the 4th gen fixes this problem?

By the time 4th gens come out I don't think the average Taco buyer would even do enough household improvements for requiring a full sheet of plywood. Maybe a pack of balsa craft wood or a plastic Christmas tree is more realistic.
