Hey Will! Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. Haven’t been on TW at all.

Lizzy and I are doing great. Loving Idaho and expecting a little lady joining us in august. Ash is happy as can be on some acreage and seems to always be laying in the creek, eating something dead or on the hunt for some chicken eggs.

Still have BabyT! We are looking at getting a new dcsb soon but I’ll be trading in my Subaru and keeping BabyT for solo hunts, fun outings and firewood getting. I don’t think I will ever be able to sell that truck.

Been staying busy working on other hobbies. Mainly fixing up old drifts boats and catching some fish.

Glad to see that your still around. Congrats on the soon to be new family member. What part of Idaho are you in? I’m heading out to McCall in late July to check out the property my dad left us.

Thank you! We are excited to have a little one running around. I should be popping on here more frequently. Good to see some friendly names still posting here.

I am about 2 hours north of McCall, near Grangeville. McCall is a beautiful area to explore.

Congrats on the little one! Glad Idaho is treating you two well. It's pretty country up there. We just got back from working on the cabin in NW MT for a week. I would have gotten more done but it rained all week and I found out the shed was taking in water and running all over my saws etc, so had to fix that instead of working on the cabin much but it's done and our place should be a nice little place to hang out one day. Cheers!

Bummer but glad you caught it. Sounds like a fun project and a great place to be.

It’s been raining like crazy here. The rivers have been blown out for a bit. Great for fish, not so great for everyone that’s tired of the rain haha.

Lizzy and I put a deposit down on a new DCSB today. Should get delivered sometime in July if things go as planned. Looking forward to new adventures and building up another taco.

A new gen 3. White, manual, DCSB TRD OR. I looked for a used 2.5 gen but I just couldn’t find one that was worth the price being asked.

All of the used trucks on the lot cost more than we are going to pay for a new one and they would have came with a higher interest rate.

I knew the market was wild, but I was still shocked. Didn’t have a single new tacoma on the lot.

Thanks man! Feels a bit dumb to buy right now but it seems worse to pause backroad adventures for however long it takes the used market settle down. If I had an access cab I would have waited to catch a deal.

Now I just need to sell my Subaru and get started on building the truck a bit. First on the list is a camper shell and a small off-road camp trailer.

    Next stop, 37’s…

just kidding, not for the new truck, but maybe for baby t.

Sounds good. I always look forward to a new project but unfortunately, the fleet is pretty much the way I want it. I am rebuilding an old '83 Hilux engine right now for myself. I'll get around to the '84 with LS engine maybe next year. That will be the rock crawler. Too much going on this summer to get much done. I haven't even been to the hills since February I think. The FJ just sits in the garage awaiting adventure. Maybe next month. :fingerscrossed:
I've actually been driving my little shuttle van, Honda Odyssey, lately as it gets better mileage than all the others. The Mrs just rolled 22k miles on our '18 4Runner. She's worked from home a lot in the past two years so it's still basically brand new and enjoys it's space in the garage with the FJ. I need to detail and wax them both. Maybe this fall. :D

I’m sure you’ll find another project ;). We always do. I here ya on not having time though. Seems like I have been buying parts/tools faster than I can actually use/install them. I am hoping I can these boats fixed up while I am on paternity leave. Preferably before steelhead seasons. Maybe I’ll shift my focus back to these trucks after that.

I feel pretty dumb getting rid of a subie outback for a tacoma with current gas prices but I have been mostly teleworking the past two years. I put less than a few thousand miles on my vehicles over the past two years. Thankfully I was recently approved to continue to telework 4 days a week and that shouldn’t change as long as I am in this position. Summers are always busier for me but I’ll save quite a bit of money in gas through the winter.

    Thank you! You as well.

I think you're good. I still work on about 20 Outbacks to 1 Tacoma. They aren't the best cars in the world and a Taco will definitely out live them.

Today’s the day! Sold the subie yesterday and picking up the new truck in a few hours.

I think this kiddo heard that she could drive home from the hospital in a new tacoma if she waited a few more days.

I don’t blame her, I would have waited too.

Looks like good duo to me! Baby T and…uh, I’ll figure out a name soon enough…

Really happy with the truck so far. Never drove a 3rd gen and have only sat in one a few years ago. Really had no idea how it would feel until I drove it off the lot today. Drives like a taco!

I’ll probably run down to the river tonight and grab some better photos. I need to rest for a bit...who would have thought buying a truck could be so exhausting.

Been a busy couple of weeks out here! Our little girl decided to join us on August 19th and it’s been a bit of a blur since :p. She has been a great addition even if we get very little sleep right now. She’s been a pretty chill baby for the most part. The dogs don’t know what to think about her but everyone is getting along haha.

I have been trying to stay busy with “baby friendly” projects that my wife can hang out on while she recovers and the little one can sleep.

Picked up a bunch of 2x6’s and 2x8’s from a neighbor to repair an old bridge on our property. Just need to replace the deck/running boards. The beams look pretty good and should be enough to handle Baby T crossing. This will allow us to access ~17 acres of our place for firewood/land management.

I also took Baby T out to scout for some firewood for a day. Didn’t take any photos of the ol’ gal but she did great. I still prefer driving BabyT over the new truck.

Found a few cords of downed larch that I’ll be working on for a bit. I think I’ll be spending most of my “free” time getting wood this fall. The new taco towed great but I’ll need to beef up the suspension in the near future. This is probably a little more than a face cord but less than a full 1/2 cord. The truck had no problems towing this and we have a pretty steep grade to get to our house.
