    My truck is a 98 2wd base excab with a V6, 4 factory speakers.

I just installed a Pioneer S520BT headunit using a Metra 70-1761 harness. There is no sound to the rear speakers even though the wires are hooked up correctly.

I link to my Android phone via bluetooth and the control shows front speakers but no signal for the rear.

As far as I can tell there is no way in the app to turn on the rear speakers.

    Clearly I'm missing something...

    I appreciate any help!
    Thanks!

I’m assuming you had rears before swapping the stereo?

Do you have rears for other sources?

You’re sure you made the connection on that second harness to the factory connector?

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I can plug the factory radio in and all speakers work.

I do not have rears for any source.

Yes, rear harness is plugged solidly into the factory plug.

Assuming your balance/fade has been set to center, I would say you have a defective Pioneer then.

You can check the Initial Settings (Manual Page 10) for output mode on rear speakers, maybe look on the back and see if it has fuses and maybe one is blown somehow but other than getting lucky with something like that I think it's defective. I didn't try super hard but I couldn't find a picture/diagram of the rear of that stereo to see if it had two plug in fuses, but some units have that.

I missed getting the speakers set on Rear/ Rear during the initial setup. Now it works like it should.

Thanks again for your help. I really appreciate it!
