This is my wife's fault. I wanted a Volvo...she wanted me to buy a tacoma.

Started out as a weekend warrior build, with a CVT rooftop tent and a voodoo rack…. And now we're going to quit our jobs and go on a Pan American road trip for a couple years.
I blame my wife. Damn her for having badass dreams that require me to build an awesome truck. It sucks.

Anyways I'm starting to lose track of what we're doing for the truck so I'm putting it here.
I'll post up more pictures when I get a chance.

    Disclaimer:
I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, literally never worked on a vehicle before this. Decided to teach myself, and do everything I can. I've installed just about everything besides the Alucab(didn't have a lift)

    Platform
2019 TRD offroad- with premium and technology packages. Brought used with 9k miles, thankfully before the pandemic.

    Day I picked her up

Dude went hard right out the gate. Love the alu cab setup. Kicking around this idea myself.

    Nice choice on the Alucab.

It's pouring rain, but I need to get out to my garage and make up my "kitchen kit" (wooden box, 22" x 14" x 14") - I use a Coleman stove with the 1# bottles, so I carry two. I cook breakfast and dinner, so one bottle will last two weeks. I'm used to bicycle travel (tiny jet stove) so boil, insulate, let noodles steep will save fuel. Those dollar store window shades suck but repurpose into a cozy for your pot. The idea is everything I need for cooking in one box, seasoning, spices all on the top. A small bottle of soap, bowl, dish towel also in there.

Yeah, started small with the CVT tent and rack then just went all in. Haven't even owned it a full year yet

I couldn't recommend the alucab enough. Absolute game changer. Amazing platform for customization.
Built like a tank and seems liike it will last for decades. Makes it so easy to get out of the house and go somewhere nice
