    All,
Have been suggested to use evans waterless coolant in intercooler , can you recommend and if someone has used evans let me know how it went
    Thanks Al

    Coolant in your intercooler?

Is this something I'm too naturally aspirated to understand?

You have a liquid to air interface intercooler?

Or are you talking about for a cooling mist sprayer onto the cooler?

I genuinely can't say that I've seen an intercooler with it's own self contained recirculating coolant system so I'm rather curious about your setup.

As for fluid, if this is a closed system I imagine it would be hard to beat distilled water and water wetter as far as thermal transfer goes.

If this is for evaporative cooling I'd look at something like water/methanol or isopropyl alcohol perhaps if water's flash point isn't high enough.

Either way interested in this thread just to learn.

I use toyota coolant in my s/c intercooler during the winter, and run straight distilled water during the summer

That's exactly what the TRD/Magnuson SC uses. Small heat exchanger (intercooler) in the SC that cools the charge air, has its own reservoir and pump and an external radiator to dump heat to the outside air. Closed loop system.

I thought the Magnuson was plumbed into the engine's coolant system which was one of the reasons it comes with an earlier opening thermostat?

Didn't think it was self contained.

Nope, completely separate and self contained.

I believe the thermostat stayed the same as stock (can't remember for sure), it just had a spacer for the thermostat housing and changes to the radiator hose to accommodate the SC.

    Huh. Today I learned.

I use Toyota coolant with some purple ice. Purple ice seems to have much better reviews than Redline water wetter - has better corrosion protection.

    Lots baby!
I use the Toyota pink stuff in the radiator. I use Prestone green in the intercooler. If I see pink on the ground, I know I have a coolant leak. If I see green on the ground, I know it is an intercooler leak.
