There was a cars and coffee a Peddler’s Village today and I stopped by this jerky place; I was feeling adventurous and brave...

My mom does not think was real python meet; I think it was, and one clue is that it was very tough compared to traditional beef jerky. What is snake but a long muscle? So yeah, I think it was legitimately python meat...

My mom does NOT like snakes one bit (alive or dead) and was a bit grossed out that I’d try it, even more so when she found out I tried frog legs at the place in Lancaster three years ago!

The snapping turtle jerky was definitely more tender than the python jerky, and it’s taste was much more comparable to actual beef jerky...

The House of Jerky had other meats, including alligator, camel, kangaroo, and venison; I thought that all of the meat looked remarkably similar, but doesn’t all meet once it’s processed?

My dad took me over to his friend’s house after they’d been hunting more than 25 years ago, and they’d bagged a good sized deer. I was offered some deer meat right off the stove and I thought it looked like a chunk of beef; I ended up liking it, but people I’ve told this story believe I only liked it because it was probably wrapped in bacon juice or something...

If I ever get the opportunity to eat venison l again, I will readily try it, and I think I will like it. About the only animal I’m a bit too grossed out to eat is snail (or any kind of insect for that matter).

I wanted to try other types of jerky, but obviously obtaining exotic meats is not cheap; The python was $20 and the snapping turtle was $19, and the portions were relatively light. Next time I’m at Peddler’s Village, I will definitely sample two more different types of meat; I don’t feel like waiting until I go to Florida again (haven’t been to Florida in a decade, sadly), so alligator will definitely be one of those!

After having several makes and models.. I will always have an Ariens in the shed. I have a rider lawn tractor mounted one and and a small 24" MTD/Troybilt too. The Ariens one is by far the best all around. Avoid buying at Home Depot or Lowes if you can. Actual Power Equipment dealers will want more $$ , but the machines are built to a higher standard.

I've been there before.. The red faded paint color was iconic! I suspect it's just hidden under the siding now...

@PennSilverTaco Did you get your Fog Lights going on your truck or am I just having another brain fart forgetting again?
