I've got a Pioneer 8400 head unit and a back up camera on my Tacoma and for the last year or so occasionally will get a upside down image displayed on my Pioneer head unit . It usually corrects it self by shifting in/out of reverse then it displays normally

Sometimes no matter what I do , either resetting the camera preset function on the head unit or shifting in / out of park the image will display upside down . This may display upside down for a week or more then the next time it displays normally

I've gone numerous times to the car audio shop that installed my audio system . They have either pulled the head unit out and checked for loose cables or used the camera preset button and sent me on my way only to have it display upside down the next day

Is this a head unit issue or camera issue ??

The head unit doesn’t have a way to flip an image, so I’d suspect it’s in the camera. Many cameras have wires to flip/mirror the image, so there may be a short somewhere.
