Oh I know they "hired" him!

It's great they took on his talent, though I hope he isn't working for pennies, or isn't getting shafted at all.

It's hard to say. GW is pretty tight lipped most of the time, but doesn't seem to be a company that has thousands of employees all doing the same thing. I don't agree with their money grabbing releases for must-play-this-army-to-win codexes, but other than that, I think they do really good sculps for minis and their books and art are right up my alley.

    Yup.

I enjoy WH fantasy and 40k, both are great IMHO.

Though, I have gotten sucked into fantasy lore much more lately, vampire counts are just too interesting lol.

I know absolutely nothing about Warhammer Fantasy... I'm waaaaaay too entrenched in fantasy as a book genre to mix WH and high fantasy lol

Just finishing the last 100 pages of HH Fulgrim. Throne, I'm so entrenched with this one, I've been carrying it around just to get the chance to read it during work breaks and lunches. Graham McNeill is quickly becoming on of my favorite authors. Anyone else play Inquisitor Martyr? I'm about to level cap at 100 hopefully next week.

I haven't played it. I should probably look into it though, my gaming rig hasn't seen much action lately.

Oh, Fulgrim is one of the best books from the HH series. It's such a fascinating and thorough story about submitting to Slaanesh. It's heartbreaking, really.

I'm generally a Dan Abnett and Graham McNeill fan, but these HH books are mostly all very good.

Which other books have you read?

Horus Rising, False Gods, Galaxy in Flames, Flight of the Eisenstein, Mechanicum and Titandeath. I was told that after the first 4 you could skip around but I started early.

Whoever told you that about the first 4 isn't wrong. The other books fill in details about things we mostly know about already. Just in a more distant, disconnected way.

There is obviously a current canon timeline, but I think the books that explain the Magnus/ Thousand Son's "betrayal" and the fallout with Leman Russ later should be read very soon after the first 4.

I've enjoyed 40k memes for awhile now. Which series of books should I read first, for someone who doesn't want to get into the games?

Start with the Horus Heresy books. Read the first 5 then you can skip around a bit. I'd recommend the books about Magnus starting with A Thousand Sons and then into Prospero Burns.

After the first 5 or so books, if you're into a certain aspect of 40k like guardsmen, the inquisition, the Eldar or whoever, I can recommend books based on your interests.

I know that the Heresy is old news, but I do wonder how long they thought it would last. I know that at least Rogal Dorn was in it for the long haul even after Roboute was scheduled to take over for him.
