Shackle tabs welded to the face.
    No frame tie in.
Be careful with this. Paint can hide any fractures as the welds become stressed.

Also know that if/when you pull with this bumper, you'll start bending the mounting horns away from the frame. The plate those studs are tacked to isn't very thick, especially with a load pulling on it.

Aesthetically a bad ass bumper and customer service was always supportive. Though I must say, it could use one more bracket, as a good tug or pull may misalign the bumper. Overall, I do like it, and enjoy it..

I love the rear bumper and think I like the front bumper also but can anyone who has one answer a few questions

How strong and rugged are both the bumpers? Real off-road or more strong street bumpers

Did they redesign the shackle mounts to run all the way to the frame or just welded to the face?

Any pics of how it is mounted for both the front and back bumpers?

What are the 4 bolts on each side - is that for connecting to the frame bracket to the bumper?

The brush guard is bolted on at the two wing joints, does that change the width of the bumper? Any pics of it on a 2nd gen Tacoma?

    Front bumper
I would say more strong street.
Mine is welded to face only, ordered March 22nd and delivered April 30th.
Yes 4 bolts attach bumper on to supplied frame mounts that bolt where the aluminum crash bar is originally.
    No

I will be installing a winch in the next month or so, when I do I will snap some detailed pics of the mounting brackets.

Chassis Unlimited has great stuff, I've got their giant weld on sliders on my 3/4 ton, they're beautiful, 8 feet long.

Just installed the rear bumper, went on easily with just a minor modification on the truck. I had more problems getting the old factory bumper off than putting the new one on. 283C31DF-12C2-4F1B-B25E-D6A9EB8C62D2.jpg

Just finished getting the front bumper and sliders on. They look great and the installation was not bad.
