I'm pretty bummed about the leak. I know it wasn't a craftsmanship error putting the AN fitting on as It went on very smoothly. Maybe it could just be a loose connection but to me it appears as if the 90 is leaking at it's pivot point. I ordered up new hose and fittings from Redhorse Performance. Much more $$ but hoping it's leak free. I'll snap some pics when I pull it off the firewall to replace the hoses.

Yeah I think I might just use these as a temporary solution / template to get the correct lengths and eventually order some premium hoses.

Do you happen to remember the hose length you used? I need this in my life.

I fixed it with new hose. And am happy to report no leaks so far with the Redhorse performance hose and fittings. I’m not sure what caused the leak but it appeared to be a leak in the hose itself. It’s hard to tell with the nylon braided hose.

You could, but first need to see at what temperature the sensor triggers the warning light.

I have these two measurements on my phone:
    28 1/4

    29 5/8

I’m fairly certain this is what I ended up measuring them as. But, depending on exactly where you install it, and how you route the hoses will change those lengths.

As OP stated though I believe my fitting also has a very slow leak. I might switch to just the spin on adapter.

I was not aware of the price of these parts when I posted. The problem I am trying to solve is that my ARB skid plate does not permit the filter be changed without removing the plate. But I can pay a shop to re/re the plate about 30 times for the price of these Baxter parts. They are really nice machined parts and I would love to have them on my truck, they're just too expensive.

I cannot believe the money people pay because the cup is too difficult. All I can do I laugh. Waiting for people to have to use their powertrain warranty only to flip out when it's voided for this crap. Especially inverting the filter up above the engine. To each their own I guess, though makes no sense cause then you have oil running down everything when you change the filter making a mess or if not the your dealing with a severe lack of oil that has to fill every time the engine is started.

I love my Baxter oil filter relocation mod. It's one of my favorite mods on the truck. Inverted oil filters have been around forever and are on the 4.0l 4runner engines i came from. There is 0 leaking or mess when u unscrew the filter u just crack it and all the oil thats in the filter drains down the tube into the pan. The filter retains oil with an anti drainback valve while the vehicle is parked and off so as soon as you start it, the engine gets oil pressure fast. I'll make a video next oil change so people can see how easy it is. No more removing a 70lb skid plate. No tools required and best of all no mess.

I had to remove the bamf skid plate to replace the oil filter. Now my oil filter is up in the engine bay near the radiator. I coupled this mod with an ez drain valve and now I use 0 tools and 0 mess to change the oil. Go back a couple pages and u can see pics.

And racing tech is superior to street tech, every advancement in cars actually first came from racing.

I just took a mobil 1 cartridge off with 7k on it, the top plastic that connects the element and actually seals the element was cracked totally through meaning my oil was not being filtered for who knows how long.

I am of the opinion cartridges are inferior and poorly made (mobil one was made in south korea btw) and a spin on will be of much better quality. Plus add to this that you can use a larger oil filter and case closed

it should be noted mobil one has apparently changed how they make their cartridge, it used to have aluminum caps on either end with orings, now they do not have any of that. They are simply a paper element with plastic on the top and bottom and no orings...the plastic cracked all the way through and my new filter is also made this way.

Flipping the filter and sticking it up above the engine ain't going to cause a problem. Pressurized oil is sent through the filter.... might drain back and take a little longer to pressurize on start up, but other companies already have similar setups and last a long time (Subaru for one).

I do think it's a bit of waste of money, but I don't see any real harm coming from it.
