I bought a 2016 2 Wheel Dr. Tacoma access cab with 43,000 miles. I bought it from a Toyota dealer it was certified used vehicle. During the test drive I didn’t notice a shutter when stopping but did notice the steering wheel off a little. I researched a leveling kit a 3 inch in front 2 in the back. Knowing I would have to realign the front end I figured they would check the front rotors as that being the possible shutter while stopping. I did try stopping in neutral and there was no shutter, I tried it in the manual shifting and found second gear shuttering.I’ve used this Goodyear store down the street from my house for 15 years I gave them my Tacoma for the alignment which turned out to be the best alignment I’ve had in many years. They told me the front rotors were fine it’s a transmission problem. I took my vehicle to the Toyota dealer they had for two weeks, they sent fluid to Toyota scientists for an examine. Mad many tests. The final result was my level kid was the problem. They removed it and charged me quite a few dollars. And the shutter is still there. I spoke to a couple of companies that use this kit and had not heard any problems I’ve experienced it. Very disappointed in Toyota. Has anybody else felt this Vibration?

I have a 16 DCSB truck. There is a TSB about driveline vibration on deceleration between 10-30mph. I’ve had it since I bought the truck.

My lift made it more pronounced and on accel at light throttle around 20mph. Before I finished my rear blocks, it wasn’t present with the bro lean.

    Per the TSB:

They redesigned the leaf springs in 17 that changed the pinion flange angle to eliminate the vibration. There is also a counter balance weight that gets installed behind the drivers airbag.

Being that mine is not under a Toyota warranty, the new springs would have run me $3800 at the dealer. It’s annoying but I’m going to live with it. Might get springs off a 2018 in a junkyard.

The part number for each is listed there. Try the steering wheel weight. If it’s like mine, the dash rattles from it now.

Cheap way would be going to a junkyard and grabbing a 2018+ leaf spring set. Or go for an AAL rear lift set up (I did blocks because I’m cheap)
