    Hello All,

I am a relatively new poster on this sub, long time lurker. Around November of last year I purchased the alpha rex quad projector headlights for my 2018 TRD sport. Long story short they arrived defective and the highbeam would act up along with the DRL. After about a month of back and forth w/ Tacomabeast they shipped me out a new pair of headlights. ( The back and forth was due to the fact that I had sold my OEM Headlights and needed them to ship me out the new pair while I still had these Headlights on my car because I drive it daily.)

Regardless, fast forward to present day and the DRL has completely dimmed out. The animation that starts when you unlock the car has stopped working on the driver side headlight. Along with that the day time running light doesn't light up all the way. I am at a loss and don't know how to proceed I am not a vehicle savant and this was a very expensive purchase

Yes, but Idk if the warranty claim resets when I got my headlights. I purchased the original ones in november and received the replacements in december. Per the website the Headlights only have a 3 month warranty. I still filed a claim, its just crazy that a product that expensive only has a 3 month warranty.

** just checked again and I misread the manafacturer offers a 2 year warranty. SO I may be in luck

** Double edit it says the following, Which leaves me a bit confused.

All AlphaRex products are provided with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty upon the date of purchase, which covers all manufacturing defects, in accordance with the conditions below for the first purchaser or person receiving the product as a present, starting with the purchase date stated on the sales invoice provided by TacomaBeast. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary by state, province, or country.

This warranty only applies if the usability of the product is considerably adversely affected by a material or manufacturing fault already present at the time of hand-over (defect). The warranty does not cover defects or malfunctions caused by any of the below conditions:

    • Carrier damage
    • Misuse or modification of the product
    • Normal wear and tear
    • Damages resulting from extreme weather and solvents
    • Normal discoloration
    • Repairs beyond the warranty period
    But also says this

    Warranties/Defective Items

    • Product that are found to be defective are covered for a period of 3 months following the original purchase date.

Let us know how it goes. I was planning on ordering a set of these headlights but as you said for the price we should expect a high quality and reliable product.

So I've been reading that Tacoma beast sells expensive cheap crap many taco owners will agree overpriced crap . My suggestion is you should have bought straight from alpha Rex themselves , probably better customer service .

Yeah it’s been posted here before, but tacomabeast is a crappy company not worth supporting. Honestly kinda surprised tacomaworld hasn’t put out more of a warning about them. But they just sell other peoples products for crazy mark ups. And you’re supporting an a hole by purchasing from them. https://www.outsideonline.com/2391788/tacoma-utah-vandalism-tacomabeast

Multiple threads on TW about how bad these lights are and about TacomaBeast as a company.

    I'd stay clear of both.

Looks like a straight up warranty claim. Contact TacomaBeast. If you don't get a satisfactory response, contact AlphaRex directly.

As for downtime while your headlights are removed, that's the same deal with any essential part on the truck (coilover shocks, wheels, intake). A basic TYC headlight is $170 on Rock Auto if you can't get TCM or Alpharex to cross-ship you another headlight, and need something to tide you over.

I bought my Alpharex headlights on eBay a year ago and so far so good. Is it just your DRL acting up? What happens when you turn on the driving lights? Turn signals still working?

The Morimoto XB appears to have a 30% failure rate going by the reports in this "official" thread. Optics design is top notch according to crashnburn80's testing. Reliability seems to be worse than Alpharex.

OEM is the way to go. i've had issues with both morimoto and alpharex/vland.

Don't buy expensive things from TacomaBeast. I would always suggest purchasing from the manufacture (may cost more but its more reliable than a third party seller)

I don’t understand why anyone buys from them. They just sell stuff you can get straight from the manufacture, and try to market it as their own product.
