I was not aware of this. Unfortunately this did not fix the issue. I am able to adjust the volumes but I am still getting a robotic tone on calls. Thank you.

 

Sorry to hear that. Mine was definitely ’robotic’ also until I adjusted the volume. Not sure what would cause that.

 

Mine was like that and still gets like that. Make sure all your apps are updated and that the phone isn't connected to any other device on wifi or Bluetooth while making the call.

 

In reading through these, if the Germes unit plugged into OEM Sirius port for power, I wonder if the Sirius/GPS adapter cable would work for power without cutting off the connector. In the end, I don’t have an objection to cutting it if it have to, but it would be nice to keep it as is.

I may be wrong but I don’t think the antenna connector is the same as the 6 pin harness the Germes taps. Worth a closer look though. I believe the antenna plugs into the module which then plugs into the radio via the 6 pin we want for the Germes. It’s been a while though.

If someone was against cutting up their Germes, I could probably build a no cut harness with T off 10 pin for power if I could source the 6 pin connector and pins. But then it’d change for 2020 and newer with etune 3 as they don’t have the 10 pin connector. Oh and JBL is different too I think.

 

Would this will work on the 2020 radio?
Call me lazy, but I would love this, how much it would be?

Unfortunately, the 2020's use a different connector so I can't pre-supply anything (not that I have a spare Pioneer harnesses).

However if someone (you) wants to try sending me your Pioneer harness and your maestro vehicle harness, I can marry them up using OEM 090IIU connectors and we can see how long that takes me and how well it works for you. It should be pretty light to mail those items round trip. Hit me up via DM if you're serious and willing to try it out and you really dislike solder and heat shrink.

For those of you that have the Germes and keep it after installing the radio, whats is the advantage of this? Can you control the cameras with just the radio and the Maestro interface?
I know I'm missing something, and the reason I ask is that I have I Germes camera control that I never installed.

Double click to show front camera for me. Ability to quickly show and switch cameras with one hand (my left) while I can still shift with my right. Auto on for front camera when exiting from reverse. All the same reasons for getting it in the first place. I don't like touching the screen.

 

I primarily got the Germes unit to show my rear camera, and I don’t think the head unit I bought or the RR Maestro, which I have, gives you the ability to show the rear camera, so I’m trying to keep my Germes. The RR2 might; I dunno.

 

Which unit do you have? If it’s any of the NEX HU’s you’ll be able to see the rear camera as long as you every thing hooked up correctly.

 

I think the feature being discussed is the ability to show the rear camera while not in reverse?

 

Yes, I want to be able to turn the rear camera on to check my trailer connections when I’m driving. It’s also handy to know whether I’m far enough into my garage to clear the door while still allowing me to use my workbench.

 

I've started using both of mine for parking too, quick double-click, inch close to garage door, down arrow, line up on the crack in the sidewalk. Ensures I'm within an inch or two of perfect with minimal hassle as I can ease off the brake to gently drift away from the door and closer to the crack. Trying to avoid blocking any of the schoolkids while they walk on the sidewalk but also give myself the most room possible to get strollers out of the garage.

yeah, with it in the widgets I can just press it and it pops up to full screen. Click the x on the top right and it’s back minimized.

 

Also, solid tunes. Saw Gojira open for Lamb of God and Metallica a few years ago (weird bill, I know), but they jammed.

 

Saw LoG a few years ago with Slipknot and they were great. Going to see them again with Megadeth in August. I haven’t seen Gojira yet but I’ve heard they’re good live.

If Metallica was headlining that show I probably would’ve left when they came on. I’m not a fan anymore. Anything after the black album is trash.
