Here are photos of the CV angles, on the TRD lift at rest (level). For good measure, I included a few photos of what I trimmed in the front wheel wells, and where I relocated the wheel well liner. Also included is a photo of the mud flaps I am running from Rally Armor.

Thanks for the review. I’m torn between this and the eibach pro . If only I can source just the coil over in the future.

I currently have an OEM pro grill
With the silver letters. My question is, does the new grill painted black or it is just the letters that are painted black.
I can’t really tell if the honeycomb on my grill is the same color as this new black grill.

My OEM lift grill is all black. Sort of has a semi-gloss finish to it.

I live in California and I heard of 88Rotors off road down in El Monte.
I feel that for what Toyota is charging for parts and labor, you can get a better suspension at 88Rotors.
I would like to know what you all think.

if you buy the whole kit yea. I would say the Fox coilovers and rear fox shocks are a better upgrade for the same price.
But if you are looking at just getting the shocks it seems to be a pretty good value

Not doubting or questioning anyone here...but how monumentally shitty would it be if you ordered this kit, had some chucklehead back into your grill in the parking lot (this occurs every 4.5 mins here in Miami) and then you can't order a replacement for the part the dealer sold you in the first place, because you have a "non-pro" truck? There's GOTTA be some kind of work-around for this. Hey Toyota...these aren't Bentleys...just shut up and take our money!

I’d say if you contacted them and told them this was the case, they would let you order it.

i thought they only needed vin for 20/21 trucks for them to be compatible with. I have tried to order just the shocks and they are not seeling separate at this time because of demand. but all the dealers didnt seem to have an issue ordering me the whole kit without even asking for a vin. I think the person was wrong about the need for a TRD pro as this would be a downgrade from what the pro comes with.

This was more about if you just want to order the 20/21 pro grille. Prior to the TRD lift kit, you needed a Pro VIN to get it for most dealerships, it may still be this way but I ordered mine awhile ago and couldn't say what the policy is now with it included in the lift kit. They don't enforce it very hard so just grabbing a valid VIN on the internet would let you get it as this was the way I did it before the lift kit.

So I don't want to use blocks. I want to install an add a leaf instead. I bought just the shocks a while back when you still could. Just wondering what you guys think is the best AAL to go with this kit? Dover? Icon? Wheelers?

I think all the companies you listed are reputable, and offer similar performance for their add a leaf. I would say any of them are a good option. I have used Deaver full leaf packs & add a leaf on multiple vehicles, and I am satisfied with their products. These days it is more of what can you get your hands on.

Is this link the equivalent of all you ordered? My plan is to try and just order the shocks and separately order an AAL for the rear to install it all myself. Just want to make sure there is nothing else I need to order. Thanks!!!

    These blocks blow!
I will eventually be getting a complete leaf pack.
I was very happy with my complete Dakar leafs w/ 2" lift in back on my old truck.
Perhaps I will try the rake look with the new truck and leave the front alone when I throw these blocks in a lake!

Yeah thats all I got. I didn't want to use blocks and I will have some heavier loads occasionally so I figured the AAL was a better option. Figured I could still get a cheap but decent lift going that route.

I got it slightly cheaper but not by much. If you can order it from there I would go for it.

So, for what it’s worth, here’s my amateur review. I got the lift installed at the dealer two days ago. It cost me $2500 after taxes, alignment, and recalibration. It immediately felt better to drive. It’s stiffer, but not harsh at all. It soaks up little bumps and big bumps. There is a lot less body roll in the corners and no diving while braking. The only thing I can compare it to is the difference in riding a long travel mountain bike, and then hopping on a short travel bike on the same trail. It just feels stiffer and sportier (weird word to use for a Tacoma). I was worried about loose steering and road wander, but I get none of that. The steering is firm and it tracks great. Hope this helps anyone on the fence!
