    1) So for V2 tune file does your ECU need to be at the current 04B3300 or can you flash it straight from 04B3100?,
    2) I tried to flash the ECU with new TSB Software and failed i/e wouldn't run the download from 04B3100 to 04b3300 VIA techstream... I then apptemped to flash using OV it said completely successful when I "Read" it but when attempted download it would not flash either. Do I need to flash it back to stock(04b3100) preform TSB to update ECU and Trans then flash with OV 04b330?
    So confusing I know

To go from 04b31 to 04b33, you need to apply the TSB. You don’t need to go to stock first.

Finally got my CARB sticker. It took a couple requests and somehow Magnuson sent it with $3.59 postage due on it.

That is one big ass sticker! Contact them and ask for a refund - total bs on postage due - but then again considering USPS was involved you are lucky it made it to you. My CARB sticker was about twice the size of a postage stamp and I am not going to place it on the the vehicle. I will keep it in the glove box for any future need.

From my experience of living and driving in California for 25 years, with visual inspections they always wanted the stickers stuck on the car, typically near the mod. Also I’m sure my sticker isn’t much bigger than yours, it’s just WAY in the foreground.

I would expect no less from California. Glad I don't live there but I'm sure it is nice. Emission staff here is able to discern connection between the sticker and the mod - but if needed it could be shown that the glove box is near the engine compartment.

I didn't need the sticker but figured it was easy enough to just stick it on the hood next to the factory emissions label. Can't lose it that way if it is needed later for some reason.

Update, I got a CEL for PO0455 something (Large leak). Cleared it and did a smoke test. It seemed to come from the fuel cap area, so got a new factory fuel cap and it still returned. Need to go back and do another full check. Might be a loose line in the system. Will update once I get it resolved. But, still....getting better gas mileage than before, easier passing, and oh yeah....smiles every time I hit the skinny pedal!

I agree with everyone here who has complained about the shifting. It seems like the shifting values are set to the pre-tsb values.

Yup. They 100% just modify stock maps so that the SC won’t blow up. I wish I knew more about tuning FI but sounds like @OVTune is going to provide support for this, which is a big reason I’m going to upgrade to the pro tuner license.

Also I should say it definitely has more power down low now and I'm not denying that, it just feels like there’s so much untapped potential which is frustrating. Pair that with the fact vf/OV 2.0 and KD both feel 1000x better in terms of tip-in/throttle response and shift logic and it’s a very disappointing and pricey purchase. I know that people that were tuned previously know exactly what I'm saying.

Driving in ect feels like the old stock 04b33 as far as what the transmission is doing but with ect off it feels like the 04b32 software that goes into 6th immediately and then jumps back to fourth.

I had an email conversation with Ryan and detailed the failures in their shifting logic - and I included an unlocked version of a modified 2.0 I used before adding their SC. He said they were working on the issues and would send my comments and the Tune to their development group for review - but did not say they would actually use the information / Tune. SOS with them - I too am hoping someone with knowledge will step up - I don't think Maggy is concerned about their SC blowing up - I think they only care about CARB. I did tell Ryan their shifting logic is a negative impact to emission (s) and a proper shifting logic will result in cleaner emission results. I doubt they care until sales fall on their face - maybe a few posts of their failure to address the elephant in the closet will help. As for .VFT - I won't hold my breath on this - Mat stated he would post FI assistance on his .vft forum. Maybe, some day....... not his priority and likely it won't be significant enough for anyone other than an experienced FI tune with full knowledge of .vft software to make a tune. You would think porting could solve this but so far there is nothing to port. Further - if Mat was concerned about .vft users who have the Maggy which used his SW to flash he would be a little more proactive about answering our questions. So far we are the last of his subscribers to get assistance. $$$ I am going to send another message to Maggy and see if they are even aware of the .VFT software and FM changes - someone should be letting those who rely on the .vft FM know what the hell is going on.

I have not tried the ECT yet - only D and S mode - will have to try it and see. Keep us posted.

If the shifting logic was as good as 2.0 VFT I would be 100% satisfied - as it stands I am significantly less than that - Hopefully Maggy will stop the lip service and actually complete the deal.

Just to be clear, I can't answer your questions about another companies product. Magnusons tune, their supercharger, etc has nothing to do with me. Unless the questions is *specifically* about something in our software I can't help. If you have a question about the tables, about values in a table, understanding what a table does, etc.. that is where I can assist.
But if it's anything related to magnusons tune I can't provide anything.

It is important to understand there is a very clear disconnect between VFTuner and Magnuson. Completely separate businesses doing separate things. They bought my software and use it. We don't work together, I don't know what they put into their tunes, and cannot provide any assistance for their product.

Just because Magnuson uses VF Tuner does not mean I know anything.

I'm selling a hammer, magnuson is selling nails. If you have questions about the nails, don't ask the hammer manufacturer. Hope that makes sense.

Also, if you have a magnuson supercharger then practically nothing VF Tuner related is relevant unless you want to make your own custom tune.
8 Way map switching, custom features, etc is not relevant to your Magnuson tune *unless* magnuson decides to create a tune with those features, which is their choice.

All that makes sense to me, I personally am still curious about an earlier post you made in here about potentially having forced induction calibration guides so we can make our own forced induction tune (in this instance with magnuson’s SC) without messing things up. Documented guides like the post below sound awesome, and if that’s a benefit of having a pro tuner license I’m 100% in. I am fine waiting of course. Just nice to know it’s in the works and I’m not stuck with this expensive piece of equipment that hasn’t met my expectations simply because the tune is sub par (and yes, I know that has nothing to do with you and everything to do with magnuson). Post below is what I’m referring to

Wonder if there's a way Mat could convince Magnuson to have their tweaked maps locked, but still allow the user to tweak shift points, tip in, AGM for my guy @MGMSangTaco, etc. A "half-locked" file so to speak. Would take a bit of coding for Mat but I'm sure it's possible.

Simple changes seems to be all that anyone is asking for. I really feel for you guys that bought this SC.

This would be a pretty awesome solution. I’ll reach out to Ryan at magnuson. Honestly I’m not even sure they don’t intend to share their tune- he sounded confused about the whole tune locking situation and basically said I could access it with the pro tuner which is false. Hope you’re well brother been too long been meaning to message ya and catch up even though we’re just TW friends (for now) haha.

Again hope I am not coming off as bitchy. The magnuson is great, but they need a ton more tune development, the 3.5L Tacoma had issues we all know about and it’s frustrating knowing how amazing it could feel with a developed tune that takes in to consideration all the problems with stock mapping. First and foremost updating the tune with similar logic to 2.0 for shifting and tip in etc is priority, but tuning for true performance is the end goal. Might make a magnuson tune thread so we can get some ideas going.
