Just got this reply from Tyler:
"Do you mean the bolt in variant? The shock is only 10” travel but do to the way it is mounted it nets more wheel travel. 16.586” 26.581” from center of the bushings before they are tightened down of the extended travel bolt in."

So the 12" is not a bolt-in (must have been a communication gap). The 16.586" collapsed length for the 10" is more in line with the B110 collapsed length that you quoted above.

Correct, you’d need a relocation to run a 12 or 13 inch. You’re on the right track now. That bolt in Tacoma shock is a pretty penny over what b110s cost, but it’s a good deal bigger, and it’ll handle anything you throw at it with a full expo leaf pack like the U402s. So as long as you’re staying within those parameters, you’re good to go for the life of the truck since you can just rebuild/revalve them as needed.

Ive done the work and been down the big shock, big relocation tower route. It’s a lot of work for performance not everyone needs. So weigh whether or not it’s worth it to you.

My bad, I (and probably most others in this thread) have the 10" bolt-ins Tyler was referring to, not the 12". I've never experienced bottoming out in the stock location, but I don't air-out 20 footers in my truck either. I also changed the stock bumps to superbumps

That's what I'm trying to figure out is if it's worth doing the shock mount relocate for a 12 or 13 inch travel shock, which as I understand it is as big as you can go for a mid travel setup. At what point does the leaf pack limit the travel on a 12 or 13", or conversely at what point do you have to worry again about bottoming out a 12 or 13"?

I ordered my extended travel 2.5" ADS coilovers in mid-February and got them two weeks ago. I finally threw them on last weekend with a buddy, and am continually blown away after every drive in my 4Runner. My 2-year old 5100s were blown as all hell, and these are just worlds above and beyond. ADS rocks!!

Alright guys I got a question, I found a pair of used ads 2.5 rr w/adj for 1250 shipped to my door. In the add they said there was some damage... other than some corrosion and some scratches I can’t see anything. What are the odds that a portion of these are bent or will need major repair

Where is the listing at? Did you ask what has damage specifically? He's also asking too muchm for being used and claiming "damage" I'd offer way less.

He's high dude. If you're willing to spend a little bit more you can buy them brand new from ads direct or headstrong . I go the same set with 700 eibachs for 2k no tax or shipping . Shocks are hard to come by due to lead times but don't pay covid tax . Just be patient

Totally agree, wait and spend a little more to get them new and already tuned to your driving style. The seller doesnt seem like he's being straightforward, that's a lot of money to spend to find out the damage is way worse than he let on.

Alright well thanks for the input I’m going to stop by ads after work and ask some questions. Will see how long the lead time is

I think right now it's running anywhere from 4 to 5 weeks up to about 8 weeks. That's what it took for my buddy's shocks to arrive when he ordered in March (rear ones took longer).

Does anyone know the turn around time for a rebuild on just the fronts? Trying to time this best so I’m not without my truck for too long

Is that part of ADS? I’m looking to have the internal jounce upgrade added since mine are older and to have a spring swap to a different weight coil.

ADS is about 8 weeks right now. I'm at 5 weeks waiting and was told it'll still be a little bit. That's just the way it is everywhere right now. No biggie

Heck if you just need a rebuild. Do it yourself if you’re mechanically inclined or pay someone local to do it. There’s a lot of shops in the rebuild/tuning business. Could afford to take work off of ADS’s plate if ya’ll are concerned about lead times.
