Measure...measure...and measure. I used red masking tape and a Sharpie to set my corner points after mocking up the rail tracks on the roofline.

Take your time, Ababa Bolt in El Cajon/San Marcos has the Riv-nut kits and extra riv-nuts FTW.

Is that an eclipse rack? How do you like it? I’m still using a Yakima with the fold down arms, looking to upgrade someday to a wheel tray type, maybe one that swings to the side- right now it is on budget hold since I threw down 3 years worth of mods budget for and engine replacement- will probably wait till I get a different rear bumper with a swing out, then I’ll look at rack options. Like the way the build is going so far. Jonesin for some SW time, haven’t been in way too long. Cheers

I remember the first time I went over Mendel pass after camping at Russell’s. First time I had been out there with a 4 wheel drive- used to go there a couple times a year when I worked in the valley- drove an 81 Chevy short bed through there, I worried even then how much it would change with increased visitation.
Sad to hear of the damage....

The rear tray rack is a Thule Classic with 2" hitch receiver. The bed rack is a Thule Xsporter. The roof basket rack is a Thule Canyon XT.

I need to update this thread...we have been moving to Arizona over the past year and I've been pretty pre-occupied with all that isht.

The only thing constant is change...sold my Gen 1 Tacoma to a guy who I know will take care of it. Hell, he's already had it out wheeling in his first week of ownership.

On to my new 3rd Gen TRD Off Road...

Hey everybody, so i bought this rig from Geoyota last year. I figured i would pop in and give some updates.

Geo took such great care of the truck and sold it to me in such good condition that ive been able to focus on upgrades over fixing things, which has been great.

    So far:
Had a bed rack fabbed by Hunter Offroad in Mesa AZ
Installed that and a Tepui Sky 3 RTT
    Rotopaxx
    Ham Radio
Replaced the old Hella incandescent lights on the bumper with Rigid Industries 6" rounds
Replaced cowl mounted lights with Rigid Cubes
Brakelight cut out switch and dash light blackout for driving with nightvision

I think i got the truck from Geo with about 220k on it, we just hit 250k driving from our home in AZ up to Glacier NP in Montana and back.

    Some notable trips we've done:
Drove from our house near wickenburg up castle hot springs to Crown King, all the way to Jerome AZ without hitting pavement the entire trip.

    Drove to Glacier National Park

    Drove to Area 51 overlook

    etc etc etc

I absolutely adore this truck, it goes wherever i need it to, hauls all my junk, keeps us safe and secure, and takes us on the most incredible trips.

Stay tuned, i will pop on and update as I do stuff.

    Here are some pics:
