Looking for Dual Dash Cam suggestions (Front and Rear)

How did you power them, and do they work when the truck is off/Parked?

 

They sell a parking wire kit and there is a adapter for power behind your mirror

 

For the one in the back as well?

 

How long have you guys been running your current Blackvue or Thinkware cams? For the cost of them, the reviews on Amazon don't look promising for duration of service for these cams. I like the temp ratings and that you can download video to your phone easily but again, people seem to have problems in less than a year with them. Are there ANY consumer grade dual dash cams that have a good duration for less than 400 dollars?

 

I've been running my DR590 for two years in my 2018 sport, and then installed it on my 2019 OR where it's been running ever since. So a total of about 4 1/2 years pretty much non stop, and actually have the original SD card in there which must have been overwritten hundreds of times. I never got around to hooking up the rear cam on the 2019, but this is a good reminder for me schedule a couple of hours to get that done.

 

I have been running my DR750S-2CH since i bought my 2017. Been running strong, and had a 512gb sd card for about 3 weeks of recording. Have it also paired with a cellink neo 6 for extended parking mode. I'm using a thinkware cpl filter too, which helps cut out a lot of glare.


The new 1.018 update bugs out cloud services though, had to revert back to 1.017.

I'm planning on upgrading to the new DR750X Plus 2CH, which is actually cheaper than the older models...

I remember my 750S-2CH was close to $450, now the new model is at $350 or the single camera for $100 cheaper. If you buy the single camera model, you can now add the secondary camera at a later time. Because the X series has the port by default, before single camera models did not come with the 2nd camera port...

 

I had a viofo 119 in my last truck and it was in there for almost 4 years (3 years in Florida, parked outside during the day) before it was totaled. Cam still worked fine, only issues I had were memory card issues. Currently have the viofo 129duo pro and it is very similar to the 119, with better CCD sensors and wi-fi capability to transfer video clips to a phone/device without having to remove memory card. There are some other improvements/features added. $250 direct from viofo. I like the form factor being very minimal and easy to hide from both the driver's view inside and other people's view from outside. Critiques are setup/menus are not very intuitive and it requires a separate hardwire harness to get the most out of it like parking mode.

 

Does the mirror adapter power both the front and rear Garmin mini’s?
