Hey guys I’m wondering if someone can hold my hand lol. Last summer I replaced my upper lower arms inner outer tie rods and both torque links and threw some cheap bushings on my swaybar. Oh and swapped out my coil overs for stock 3rd gens.
Now after that I had some creaking and squeaking in my front end which I’m pretty sure is the cheap bushings and every once in a while a loud ass bang. All that went away in the mn winter.

now that it’s warming up all these noises are coming back lmfao. So I’ve realized if I turn sharp enough (parking lots turning into my driveway) I’ll get a loud pop I can feel it in the wheel and the truck literally shifts over. It’s almost like the front end is getting hung up on something. I’ve looked around for any signs of wear and I see nothing.

Jacked it up and I’ve got about a 1/4 in of lateral play in my steering that plays the opposite side as well. Meaning if I move one wheel the other will also.
I’m thinking my rack bushings are going /gone but I don’t work on trucks daily. I need some trouble shooting material from y’all what do I need to do to narrow down my issue. Thanks in advance guys

Well after some more looking into it and realizing my daughter lied to me when I asked if the other wheel was moving when I pushed. Both of my inner rods have failed. In 10 months….. it’s a damn pavement queen. Livid just livid

I’ll be honest I don’t remember. I got em off rockauto knowing I would probably regret it but everything was worn out on the truck and covid happened. Thought I was going to lose my job lol. Stupid. Just stupid.

thankfully I kept my stock uppers and lowers With the idea of r/r the bushings and balls. Now I’m actually doing it. Got two bushings out so far today

Don't kick yourself too hard. We have all been there. And there was a time when many aftermarket replacement parts were equivalent or better, but that time is long gone IMHO.

Do you have some specific parts you need now? Sounds like some tire rod ends for sure, others?

Yeah new bushings and balls for the uppers and lowers and I’m gonna buy some new bushings for the sway bar as well while I’m at it.

4WD. Welp looks like the sleeves are seized / rusted into lower arms. I might just have to buy some quality lowers with bushings and balls lol

Sounds about right. Think of it this way. You seem to have gotten 12ish years on the OEM parts vs short time on the aftermarket stuff.

You are going to have to cut the cams with a sawsall to get the lower arms off. Use Lenox blades to make quick work of it. One blade in particular. I'll check the part number later, if you don't hear from me send a PM. And whatever you do, do not try to cheap out on the cams using aftermarket but use OEM. Expensive but the aftermarket ones are getting bad reviews.

What shape are the UCAs? I prolly have a set around here.

Honestly haven’t looked to hard at them. I know the ball joint in one is trash. I’ll have to see about the bushings. The good thing is I can leave that for last. I want to get the lowers in and the tie rods so I only have to get it aligned once. Least that’s the preference.
