The Beauceron got a bath and is not happy. She loves to play in the water, but only tolerates a bath.
We have never had a bad guy enter the property, she definitely knows her job.

Any suggestions to help stop leash pulling for my 5 year old lab. I think I tried everything to no avail. Harness, treat training, stop and go, reverse direction. Will not use choke or shock collars. Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Halti-collar. Non-restricting and only tightens on the dog's actions. We had one on our lab - she didn't mind it at all. With it on, a 3 year-old could walk her.
    https://www.amazon.com/Company-Animals-Headcollar-Adjustable-Training/dp/B004XNLCPC

Without it, that toddler was going for a drag.

When our lab passed, we gave the collar to our niece with a Rhodie. Same effect - stopped the pulling immediately, and that dog was 30 pounds heavier.

Edit - it looks like they've improved on it with some padding. Nice upgrade to an already great product.

Thanks. I’ve seen those before. Is it needed for every walk or could I eventually remove it?

Isabelle needed it for the rest of her life. As disciplined and smart as she was, God couldn't help the squirrel that caught her attention. Only Halti saved them (and my shoulder) from imminent death. She didn't seem to mind it - to her, it meant "WALK!!!!" and she was eager to get it on.

The great thing is that it isn't a muzzle - she could eat, drink, bark, pant, whatever - it just convinced her that pulling would prevent her from moving forward.

That's a really cool design. Looks like it basically pulls their muzzle in the opposite direction that they are trying to pull, so I can see why they would stop pretty much immediately. Wish I knew about these when I had a Basenji -- he would choke himself to death on a regular choke collar, a pinch collar helped but he still pulled a little.

A harness with a loop on the front might work as well. This keeps the attachment point on their chest, so if they pull it tends to turn them around. Our shibas will pull a bit on collars (sometimes it is the opposite of pull, they just stop and sit there and you have to drag them), but using the front loop on the harness keeps the leash slack -- unless they don't want to move, but it's easier to drag them with as well, lol.

I was SO LUCKY that we had a well-disciplined Akita before I knew what a Halti collar was. That doggo was 135 pounds of muscle and stubborn, but he was also extremely obedient on a walk and would heel at whatever distance you pointed out. I could let him roam about 30 feet in front or demand he stay by my side - and he wouldn't stray no matter what.

Isabelle (our lab) was one speed when she was off leash - full. She would run at high speed toward whatever, sniff it, then come running back at full speed. Great when you're out in the boonies, but bad when you're in a city park or neighborhood and need her to stick close by.

all of our huskies were like this...fine on the leash, but as soon as they were off, or got out of the door, it was a bee-line to wherever they were headed....no catching them. The only way to get them back was to yell "cheese" and hold up a slice of American cheese....that stopped them in their tracks most of the time

Looks familiar! I see her wagger is in the “on” position.

Our Lucy (aka “Murder Dog” - right) is mostly Bichon. She’s a stone cold killer if you’re not family. Is yours also over-protective, or are we just “lucky?”

Damm dog has to have his way.
Wife brings him for a walk during the day then it’s my turn after I get home.
We went to the ice cream shack for a doggy Cree-mee.
An hour walk and poop in oddly warm temps and he is this!
    Ha I win this time!

I love seeing all these photos. The longest I have gone my entire 42 years without having a dog is 2 years. I dont really know how to function without one. After the loss if my boy, my wife is still not ready. Granted it has only been 2 weeks since the loss but my anxiety is through the roof (no pun intended). I work all day every day around dogs, and this helps but nothing like the connection with your own.

I lasted 4 weeks after I put my ol boy down. And got the shepherd and a week after that got another boxer. These two knuckleheads are only a week apart in age.
