Trying to find 16" wheels with -12mm offset isn't easy. The two common options out there are SCS and RRW, both of which are not in stock. More importantly, I don't really want to spend a ton on wheels since I'm only going to chew them up anyway.

These Pro Comp 69 Series Vintage wheels seem to have everything I need, at a price I can get behind. They're very reminiscent of SCS Ray 10s. But after doing some searching I'm seeing conflicting reports that they won't clear the brake calipers. Can any third gen owners confirm that the 16" wheels will clear? From what I've read, the clearance is a fraction of an inch, but it does indeed clear.

Make any decision on this? I had those Pro Comp 69 wheels on my 2nd gen and loved them. Tried to move them over to the replacement 3rd gen and I did find an issue. Yes technically the wheels fit. However, it is by the slimmest millimeters of clearance. What happens with mine is the wheel weights that were added to balance the wheel hit the caliper.

I ended up buying KMC wheels instead. Too many stories of too close for comfort like yours turned me off from them.

Yeah, if I end up needing new wheels I'll have to pick something different or go 17". For now the angle grinder did the trick. I've become far to comfortable taking a grinder/cutoff wheel to my truck.

Just posting in case other people are interested, I've had the 16" Pro-Comp 69 for over 2 years now. They will clear your caliper, but it's very very tight. I would say about 1/8th of an inch. But since there is no movement, there is no rubbing.

Now that is my experience, others may vary.
