Upgraded Transmssion

Hey everyone,

I‘ve installed a lot of performance mods and I’m sitting around 500HP now and my transmssion can’t handle it. Are there any options for an upgrade that I can get for a 2014 V6 4.0 L automatic?

 

You have an A750 transmission (A750E = 2WD, A750F = 4WD).

A bigger/better cooler should be the first upgrade. Good quality, fresh fluid as well.

There are companies making upgraded valve bodies and/or shift kits. IPT, Sonnax, Ratiotek all come to mind.

Upgraded friction discs for the clutch packs should be available. I would hope torque converters too, but do not know.

 

Here are a couple that members here have done.
I haven’t heard of anyone that’s upgraded clutch packs.
That doesn’t mean you can’t, or that they don’t exist. I just haven’t heard of anyone doing yet. (TBH, I haven’t really looked into it)

Sure thing,

URD Stage 3 mk3 supercharger,
URD long tube headers,
URD spec u competition y pipe,
Pedal commander,

And I also already have a towing trans cooler that I installed

 

Can't say much about them, but their tare-down videos are interesting.

 

Any internal work required for those HP levels? I don't know much about our engine components if they are forged from the factory or anything like that. Just curious.

 

The urd supercharger kit I got came with an upgraded fuel pump/thermostat/bigger cams, bigger fuel injectors, upgraded spark plugs and a self tuning ecu called the "UCON" the UCON handles a lot of the internal changes by routing some plugs from the stock ecu to itself, changes cam gear timing, fuel/air ratio and a lot of other stuff.

 

All are available indeed.

He will need to upgrade his valve body, clutch packs and torque converter to higher stall rate in order to handle the increase in power levels.

Talked to gadget at URD, said upgrading the valve body should be enough to fix the shifting issues I'm having, will update once I send it to this place in NJ and get it back

 

I think the guys helped out the OP just as much as i could . All of the recommendations that were made were excellent advice
