I love off roading. Bought my 1st new truck in 1973. Had a total of 21 trucks, 14 bought new, and 5 of which are/were Toyota's. "Death" may be overstating it a bit, but....over the years, in a variety of vehicles, I've been witness to multitudes of new or nearly new trucks take home trail rash....bent bumpers, bed sides, tail lights, etc....it happens.

At that point it would no longer be a "new truck".

Probably 98% of the trails are not difficult. The other 2% is scattered around in various climbs, rock ledges, , tank traps, etc...you want someone with you...it's good to see someone else's choice of lines when you can...and there are a few places on the trails that approach legendary status... (known to make grown men cry)

I've been there on a day that saw 4" rain. Last I heard it's dusty dry right now. Degree of difficulty about 5x when muddy.

Some of the best times I've ever had at DBBB was with group's of mostly stock trucks...watching them accumulate trail rash, etc...

I will have to try it out while it's relatively dry then. When I do I'll post in the thread incase someone else wants to join. I do agree the tired on the trd pro are not great, I was planning in replacing them once they are worn, but that won't be for a little bit. In addition I was planning on rock sliders relatively soon. Besides that a new bumper for a winch. Just want to have some fun as soon as possible and get camping in this summer.

I guess while I'm at it, would you suggest parts of the KAT would better than the DBBB? I'm talking like is the KAT more fun and challenging or would you say the DBBB is? Eventually I'll try both.

From my experience with those trails, they both can throw a few tough spots at you. KAT offers a variety of challenges along with shear distance. DBBB is plenty "long" when you link it all together. I hear DBBB is about to get more miles....

Both place have miles of stock friendly trails. Interspersed throughout their routes are more difficult obsticals that'll snag 35s on a built rig. I wouldn't feel comfortable with less than 33s, a winch and sliders, ESPECIALLY when muddy

A little bit of good news. My truck was built on Monday and scheduled to arrive around the 23rd. Getting real excited for this.
