    This is great info.

My AFE arrives this week and I’m just waiting for the water pump to arrive as well. I have all the other parts on hand (thermostat, pulleys, belt, fan clutch, etc)

What exactly does elongating the mounting tab bolt holes do? Do you have a pic or more details?
Also what did you end up using to seal the gaps?

I also noticed that your PS reservoir is positioned forward towards the radiator. It looks similar to mine because I have the Slee ARB dual compressor mount. I am concerned that the new double row radiator will hit the PS reservoir.

This is the rubber seal I used; https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B013WDNF7G?ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

The shroud mounting bolt tabs are slotted, and didn’t quite line up with the AFE bolt holes, so I just elongated or enlarged them with a drill bit.

I had the Slee compressor mount, but then moved my compressor to the bed away from engine heat. I haven’t had good luck with compressors under the hood. I left part of the bracket to mount my winch solenoid.

Has anyone used the afe 2nd gen one on a 3rd gen yet ? I’d think you would just have to switch to 2nd gen bushings and longs bolts

It was not bad at all. I would much rather trim plastic than metal. Just be patient and test fit everything, and get that rubber gasket ahead of time.

That rubber door seal tape looks way better than the 1/2 inch thick rubber foam tape that I used , time to break out the credit card......

Install day for me. It wasnt super hard overall. Drained the passenger side of the block as well. The driver side drain just wasn't having it so I left it alone. I think I need to rebleed the system. Im seeing alot of temperature fluctuations sitting at lights. I also need an after picture.20210708_091255.jpg USER_SCOPED_TEMP_DATA_MSGR_PHOTO_FOR_UPLOAD_1625754196848_6818907330858206839.jpg 20210708_151718.jpg

Going to need to use a heli-coil or something, and a new drain plug. Or start a conversation with CSF.

Sorry to see that man. Can pretty easily be remedied.

Yeah the threads came off the bolt & are stuck in the radiator , its like they used thread locker on it- but they didn’t. Csf wants me to ship it back to them , I don’t want to be without a radiator, so I might just try to fix the threads...

I had a similar problem when I made my overflow tank. Welded the cap bung on, with the aluminum cap threaded into it. For who knows what reason, it unthreaded perfectly. Threaded it back in. (Obviously cooled down.) Then went to unthread it once more, and it took a vise to get it out. Thread were garbage by that point. Weird I tell you. Had to weld on a whole new one.
