DMM Phone Mount

Hey guys!

I bought a DMM from a member a while ago, and I’ve been meaning to get in installed, but wanted to see what everyone recommend for a phone mount! ( )

I have an iphone 11 pro max for reference.

 

I went with an Amazon one. Something with a clamp works best for me. Took some mods to get it all working right together, though.

I love the way it fits my Pro Max but the ball is metric (not 1” like RAM mounts require) so be aware of that.

 

I picked up one that operates with one hand. Snaps closed when you push your phone on. Squeeze to open.

I used the Ram RAM-HOL-OT3BU and RAM-HOL-OT3U.

One hand release and rock solid.

 

I have that same holder I use for my bike. How did you have to mod it to fit with the ball?

 

Honestly idr. Mix n match parts till it fit.

 

I'm using the Hondo Garage prefect squeeze phone mount. It's pricey but rock solid. I'm also using their tablet mount for my ipad.

To clarify - you bought the DMM that Taco Garage manufactures and you want to see accessory mounting options? I think the DMM is the most cost effective, versatile inclusive system. Some members have put there own together using camera equipment which works well too. It took me about 30 minutes total to install the DMM.

 

I'm obviously a little biased but I think that the mighty magnets are the best way to do it as long as you don't mind having a metal plate on your phone or inside the case or something. The convenience of being able to slap your phone into the magnet effortlessly and taking it off effortlessly while being able to rotate from portrait to landscape without loosening anything up is priceless. not only that but you can also use the magnet for any device that has metal plates on it AND those magnets WILL hold even OFF ROAD. Just sayin...

It's small, low profile, sticks right on the top of the radio bezel and holds my Iphone perfectly and quickly 99.9% of the time. The magnet option is pretty amazing, but unfortunately, that .1% is when I'm going over any sort of washboard dirt road. I'd love to have that same mount, with a tiny little ledge on the bottom, just to keep gravity in check when the truck is vibrating itself to death. I'm considering 3D printing some sort of piece to attach to it and act as a ledge rather than blow $80 on some massive new mount that I'll need to fight with anytime I want to add/remove the phone from the mount.
