    when turn the volume knob to raise the volume the display number goes up then down then back up any thought on that it happens with cd. am/fm and bluetooth so it happens all the time

    Some of us had as many as 3 OEM replacement radios under warranty on our '09s. And when I posted this elsewhere a guy jumped in and said he was on radio no. 4.

    I have an '06 and it does that now.

    Our 2000 4Runner has that issue on the heat/AC buttons.

    It's a Toyota feature.

    It for sure happens with the 2009’s. The volume knob on mine sometimes worked, sometimes not. I just got the radio replaced. All is good now.

    Funny, the fix for this seams to be "replace the whole radio"

    You could try and take the vol. knob off and may a few blast of compressed air around
    the vol. knob shaft would clear this up, maybe. It could make things worst.
    It sure would be nice to know whats really going on here...
    I would bet that this is a "rotary encoder" and it may just be full of dirt.
    It could also be so cheaply made that its just falling apart inside the encoder.
