2nd and 3rd Gen Emblems - The Same or Different?

Hi all - I can't for the life of me find any info about this on the Search, but are the 2nd gen side emblems the same as the 3rd gen? Or are they really different?

I want to get these neat decals with the little truck, but the seller is saying they are incompatible with the 2nd gen.



There's a 2nd gen version, but it doesn't have the little truck.

I suppose I could cut out the little emblem indents, but that's part of the charm of them...

Yea, im bummed too since I bought overlays and found that they are for a 2nd gen only and won’t fit a 3rd gen.
I wouldn’t really believe it, but Jeff is the parts guru!
