Yeah my ears have seen their better day too lol.

I guess you fixed it, but just for the thread in general, the old school trick of using a vacuum tube stuck in your ear and poking the other end around works really well. I did it on my kids chevy truck a few years back. Same thing, jacked it up and spun the wheel. Tube trick worked well. There was a marked difference between the left and right wheels, you could hear it with the tube.

Truck is currently at the alignment shop and they called during to tell me that my front left wheel bearing is on it's way out. They quoted me something over $500 to replace and I declined. However, looks like this will be a project coming up soon.

From reading this thread it sounds like I need to buy a complete assembly from RockAuto and i'll have to 'rent' a higher capacity torque wrench (mine only goes up to 120lb IIRC). Otherwise it sounds like it's a fairly easy job if you can do brakes, which I can.

Just buy complete bearing and pop it in a couple of hours if you have tool and any mechanical ability - no reason to buy a press.

Thats my plan, just trying to find out the best whole assembly to buy. @Muddinfun recommended a member and it looks like he uses the OEM bearings so i will reach out to him.

Must be nice to buy the assembly already put together ..... 5 to 6 years ago here in Canada I had to source and buy all components separately and source bolts from Toyota and then have someone press it all together before I could install .... total cost was approx. the same at least.

Rock Auto is your friend. I've been ordering from them for years. No duty on car parts and as long as the product isn't bigger than a medium sized poodle, the shipping costs are very reasonable. Use a credit card that doesn't fleece you on foreign currency exchange.

OK, has anybody here used the Beck Arnley hub assembly? I'm ready to put my new one on (old one is off). I noticed it came with 2 new o-rings. They are both the same size. They fit perfectly around the housing. The OEM unit only has the one. I'm probably overthinking this, but there is a concave circle at the base of the B/A unit, but the circle is larger in diameter than the o-rings.
Did I get sent a second o-ring by mistake? Old one is pictured as well.
I'm pretty confident I only need to use one.

Thank you! Did you use a B/A unit?
I'm tempted to leave my rear seal that is a press fit into the knuckle, as it is in great shape. Did you change yours?

I'd change the seal, it can be a pain to seat the new one. I took a dremmel with a wire brush to the spindle to get out the old rust and put the seal in the freezer and it fit in fine. I'd recommend getting something flat and pressing the seal in that way with a rubber mallet. just be careful not to hit the ABS sensor when taking a wire brush to the spindle. If you have two seals just match it up to the old one.

I'll try the freezer, might as well while I have the whole thing apart.

I did mine awhile back and a buddie's 4runner over the weekend. The freezer trick worked well but the big thing was getting all the gunk out where the seal seats off the spindle. I used a block of wood against the seal to tap it in with a mallet and after messing with it for a bit it went in super easy.

Thanks! My knuckle is pretty clean. Just to confirm, we are talking about the seal that fits in the back of the steering knuckle, correct? That's the one that came with the wheel bearing/hub assembly.
