I just checked the status on mine in the shop, still waiting on parts. :pout:

But luckily I have my Sthil that is very capable!

I know that I was impressed with the Makita trimmer I bought my mom for Mother’s Day, that thing was wicked light (7lbs with battery) I was up in the air between the Ryobi and the Makita for her, and the weight was a big factor. The Ryobi was like 12 lbs!
The big reason I got the Milwaukee string trimmer was that there was a deal running on MSC industrial that included the pole saw attachment, as well as a 3’ extension segment for the cost of just the trimmer with battery! And it came with another battery and charger because it wasn’t a “bare tool”.
So, even if the trimmer isn’t great, it’ll still be useful as a pole saw!

I just purchased a saw, already have 2 chargers and 3 batteries. 1/2" impact, vacuum and now this saw so far. My work has used a few different brands of impacts, to include Dewalt and Snap-On. They stick with what holds up better, Milwaukee is all they buy now.20210609_175609.jpg

Generally speaking I go for the smaller but more batteries approach. Mainly because I don't use tools in a prolonged single use enough to justify the bigger 6.0, etc batteries over 2 3.0s for example, but also because changing a battery real quick is easy, and lets me buy more tools as a "tool only" config.

Overheating is a real possibility with the small batteries if you are using them with more demanding tools. It sounds like your current tools don't fall into that high-draw category. I run a cordless m18 angle grinder pretty frequently... With the smaller AH batteries they will go into limp mode after a minute or two of usage. I had to pickup a HD 9.0 battery to run the grinder in any capacity.

Has Ridgid priced itself out as Milwaukee tools have come down a little in price? That being said I would consider Rigdig’s portaband for the price with a battery even though I would have three different chargers etc… saw a deal a week ago for the deep cut Ridgid portaband for $179 with 4aH battery and charger!

There was a post on here the other day. Someone had bought a Milwaukee style Dremel Tool. Anybody know where I can find that? I just looked on Home Depots page and didn't find it.

I recently got one of those, but it was a combo deal through Home Depot. Came as a free bonus tool with a kit of the M12 Impact Driver and Drill Driver.

Here it is as a tool only

Anyone here bought the M12 or M18 grease gun? Curious if it leaks like a mofo like my manual one does. Got a nice foot wide puddle of superlube next to my box thanks to this heat.
