Hi: I am in the process of putting bucket seats and a center console in my 97 tacoma ex. cab. I have the console, and I was wondering if anyone knows how it bolts in place. There are two holes on the bottom of the storage comp. They are about 1/2 inch in diameter. Are there holes in the center hump for the bolts? What type of bolts does it take and where can I find them? Sorry for being so long winded.

pull up the carpet and see if there are bolt locations stamped int the tranny hump. if there are just drill them out and bolt it in.

There is a u shaped bracket for the back and 2 holes that need to be drilled to mount the bracket and 2 for the middle in the console. The front 2 holes tie into the shifter console.

In my 96 I originally had 60-40 bench seats. When I upgraded to buckets I found that the bolt holes for the center console were already there, I just needed to poke holes through the carpet.

I bought a used center console from a 97, part number 58901-35090. I had to buy the mounting bracket separately, part number 58993-35020.

For the bolts I reused some spare Toyota 10mm hex head bolts that I pulled from an old Lexus. I think they were M6x1.0x25mm.

I have no idea how I did that I thought it was a recent thread but I did catch that after I posted and just knew I’d catch hell for it.
