Has anyone replaced the factory headlights with sequential headlights? Which are your favorite and how much of a pain in the ass was the replacement

    Thanks fellas

I've had two different sets of headlights with sequential turn signals. first set was the SpyderAuto/TacomaBeast Headlights w/ Sequential Signal ($350). Now I'm on the Morimoto XB LED Headlights | version 2 ($1400)

I would recommend either the OEM LED Headlights, Alpharex Headlights, or Morimoto XB LED Headlights. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

I would recommend avoiding SpyderAuto because those halogen lights barely shine far enough to illuminate the road. I can say the stock fog lights can shine further than those headlights

Installation is easy if you know what you're doing. The bumper does not have to be removed to install the lights, however you will have to remove some pins and pop some clips and move the bumper back to make things easier.

    SpyderAuto Headlights (not recommended)

I personally recommend OEM LED or Morimoto's. Alpharex are expensive supbar performing headlights, that uses knockoff parts from Chinese VLand headlights.

Also I think OEM LED headlights looks sexy when paired with @MESO colored trim plates.

I highly recommend reading through @crashnburn80 thread regarding the science behind all the different headlights.

I'm regards to installation, it wasn't difficult, but you have to do your research. Best to buy extras blue fender tabs clips cause those break easily. The motion to remove the headlights is to slightly pull the headlight section closes to the fender towards you, then a sliding motion of the whole assembly towards the grille to clear all the tabs. Installation is the reverse of that.

I did my whole installation in pouring rain...

Speaking of OEM LED headlights.... Anybody else get oncoming drivers flashing you with their high beams because they think you have yours on? Happens almost every time I drive at night. I always have to flash them back to show that mine are not on.

I installed my morimotos last week and its already happened at least twice. I see more with my low beams on anyway because my fogs are bright as hell

If you're getting flashed it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it might mean that you need to have your headlights properly aligned. The OEM LED's are fabulous lights but because their cutoff is much softer than the projectors they replace, it's much harder to get them accurately aligned. The best method, of course is with a headlight beamsetter alignment system, but good luck actually finding a shop that has one and actually knows how to use it correctly.

Because our trucks are generally higher off the ground than most passenger cars, it's also more likely that you end up dazzling oncoming drivers' particularly if your alignment is just a hair too high.
