WANTED!! Meso Customs steering wheel overlay/cover - black

Hey There,

Long shot here... I am hoping that a Tacomaworld member might have a Meso Customs steering wheel overlay in black. Otherwise known as the steering wheel 'chrome delete'. This would be the cover that sits overtop of the chrome Toyota logo on the steering wheel airbag.

I know that there are alternate options online and I have tried reaching out to Meso directly as well. This is my last hope... If you happen to have one and if you would like to sell it please let me know. I am interested in buying it.

How could they have a problem with you making and selling a part that they don't make? How is that any different than the million of other aftermarket partsm

If I had to guess, probably a combination of using their logo plus the "safety" issue of an unverified part sitting right over the steering wheel airbag. Though, it probably wouldn't be hard to just remove the stock emblem and give it a few whiffs of rattlecan matte or satin black for the same effect. I'm thinking about doing the same for the silver pieces in my dash/steering wheel.

Oh I'm aware there are thousands of other companies that make them. MESO is just a bigger target for the legal team to hit, rather than the 29347856789346 tiny companies out of China that'll just change names and sell them anyway.

 

I thought bout doing that but after doing a little investigating, the stock chrome emblem is "glued" on and the process to remove & replace it is pretty involved. I'm a little over cautious about removing the airbag.

On another note, someone is offering cover-ups for it with a modification to the Toyota emblem that might not violate their logo rights.

 

You mean to say that the steering wheel overlay and cover badges previously on your website are now collectors items?

Imagine the Airbag deploy and the badge cover hitting your eyes. That's why they have a problem when you put their logo on something that can potentially make someone seriously injured.
