i got my tacoma for under invoice, whatever that was...like 28,000 or something for the same truck you are looking at in automatic. the truck you are looking at stickers at what, around 31.5K? Find another dealer, you can get them cheaper if you shop around. I Went to 3 dealers before i found one that was willing to deal.

Out of curiosity, where do you live? I found in BC (and most of Canada from what I hear) they stick to their guns with the "no haggle" policy.

Yep! Carsdirect car buying service is free for you. They negotiate the deal for you with several dealers. Or another option is the car buying service at your Credit Union. I financed through my credit union and got my payments payroll deducted every 2 weeks. It saves $1500 in interest over the life of the loan. And I hardly notice my payments missing from my check. Always check other dealers if one won't play ball. I'm sure there is a dealer that wants your business. Check carsdirect.com or Edmunds.com & see if there are any rebates on the Tacoma. A month ago there was a $2000 rebate.

And if you think you need a full size. I would go with a Tundra before I would an F150. The Tundra would last forever, where the F150 would not last 10+ years(without major problems). But for what your needs are, I would stick with the Tacoma DC. My 05 DC has 99,500 miles(Mileage correction. Rolled over to 100,025 on my way home from work.) on it & not a single problem. All I've done is brakes,Oil changes, & tires(general maintenance).

    Good Luck!

My local Ford dealer is offering brand new F150 Super Crew V8's (base model I reckon) for $19,999 brand new. They can't sell them.

my buddy just got a tundra, really nice truck. the double-cab has more room than any other trucks double cab. the rebates are pretty good on them as well. I believe his stickererd around 35 for the trd package and he paid somewhere around 29,000 if i remember correctly.

    WOO HOO!!!

i got it. after talking to the original dealer i started talking to other dealers on-line. when i told the original dealer i had other options and was in NO rush to purchase a truck he quickly started coming down.

its a silver DBcab 4x4 6spd, trd sport w/tow package. it also came with a unlimited mileage for the life of the car (to the original owner) powertrain warrenty. i just have to keep up with maintainanc (every 6 mo/5000 mi).

thanks for your input. i will be lurking on here til its dead!

nothing yet, first thing is new tires.
Shop used, especially with where car sales are right now nationally. You should be able to spot a plethora of slamming deals if you are willing to travel a bit. I picked up a certified 07 TRD Sport with 10k miles for 18.4k

EDIT: Just finished the thread, congrats man! This was my first Tacoma and I love everything about it so far, I'm sure you will too.
